If ''Thumbelina'' takes up 61 of the film's 95 minutes of run time, and if you took that out the Thumbelina segment and plus all the [[LeaveTheCameraRunning unnecessarily unnecessary long shots]], shots]] in the final product Santa scenes, the whole thing would be roughly five minutes long.

Per TRS.

* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Watching or even ''reading'' about the movie gives a sensation similar to being on Nyquil or some other strong cold medication.
** To put it in perspective, consider ''Website/TheAgonyBooth''[='=]s [[http://www.agonybooth.com/recaps/Santa_and_the_Ice_Cream_Bunny_1972.aspx Recap]]. Of the 64 occurances of their signature bracketed punctuations, only nine of them were directed towards the Thumbelina portion of the movie. The number of the most bracketed punctuations Thumbelina got in a single page is 3 (which is during the scene where Thumbelina meets Mr. Digger)[[note]]Specifically, Page 7, in which the film earns a "[?]" for Mr. Digger being described as going south for the winter, a "[!!]" for when Mr. Digger reveals he only has an informal idea of what a beam of sunlight looks like, and another "[!!]" for when Mr. Digger asks Thumbelina to marry him.[[/note]]. In contrast, the number of the ''least'' amount of bracketed punctuations the main portion of the film recieved on a single page is five. And that's in the ''first page'', which only covers the opening scene with the elves in the North Pole[[note]]Specifically, a "[?]" for the "Film by" credit not being the final credit, a "[!]" upon the revelation that the director, Barry Mahon, helmed ''Film/RocketAttackUSA'', a "[!!]" upon the revelation that he ''also'' made softcore porn flicks, another "[!!]" for one the elves kissing a doll supposedly made for the kids, and another "[!]" for the StockFootageFailure of reindeer in a very grassy area in what is supposedly the North Pole.[[/note]].
** The [[https://www.alternateending.com/2015/04/santa-on-the-beach.html Alternate Ending blog]] sums it up nicely.
--->"The plot more resembles a transcription of a bad peyote experience than a motion picture."

Renamed some tropes.

* QuestionableCasting: Near the end, Santa gets too hot and decides to take off his coat. Hilariously, the guy playing him (Jay Clark) is pretty skinny, and only looks to be about 30 or so.

* {{Misblamed}}: While some people have criticized the movie for completely dropping Thumbelina's mother from the story after the first act, this is actually faithful to what happened in the original story -- it was Creator/DonBluth's [[WesternAnimation/Thumbelina1994 animated adaptation]] that gave her mother a more prominent role and had them briefly reunite at the end. That being said, the lengthy sequence with the witch has the unintended side-effect of increasing the mother's role in the story, making it all the more jarring when she's suddenly dropped.
