* BreakawayPopHit: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6eShPudSGU Chhabeela'', the CrowdSong, is one of the few things that came from the movie and not only wasn't hated, but gained significant popularity.
* ClicheStorm: It was intended to be whimsical, over-the-top masala movie, with a heavy dose of {{Homage}} to the works from the 50s and 60s. It backfired ''horribly'', as both critics and audiences tore the movie apart for being nothing more than a pile of losely connected cliches and ideas.
* OvershadowedByControversy: The film was one of the focal points of the late 00s (and still ongoing) discussion about {{Nepotism}} and "Bollywood dynasties", given it was a vehicle built entirely on Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, who had never acted before in their lives (not to mention leading), but still landed the roles thanks to being children of established names. It's probably the only context in which you can see the movie ever being mentioned, other than how big of a flop it was.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Raj drives StalkingIsLove to its logical conclusion, and it very quickly becomes just creepy with his single-minded advances towards Sakina.
