* InformedWrongness: Cheryl is seen as horrible for not wanting to help F.P. However, F.P. did know for weeks who had actually killed her brother and said nothing to help. Why should she be obligated to help him?
** In the same vein, while the mayor was cruel about Pop Tate's plight, she was written as bad for not wanting to help with F.P. However, F.P. did commit all of the crimes he was being charged for. She could have been kinder about it, but what was there for her to do?
*** YMMV but in episode 13 sheriff Keller told FP that the mayor(and the DA) would give him a lighter sentence if he named names and told them where the Jingle Jangle was coming from....which he can't actually do because the serpents aren't the ones selling it, FP actually says that the serpents only sell "dime bags of weed" and "Don't get into the hard stuff". This makes it clear that the mayor not only has a say in what happens to FP but paints her as a self centered bitch who only cares about getting ahead even if it means punishing a group of people for something they didn't actually do. Further episode 13 makes it pretty clear that FP's only involvement in Jason's murder was the clean up. And then there's the fact that the series makes it clear from the way the north side treats the south that if FP had told the truth in the beginning he wouldn't have been believed, even with the video, if only because he's from the south side and Clifford was a rich, well respected businessman who provided the town with their precious maple syrup.
* UnintentionallySympathetic: Cheryl. Sure, she hasn't exactly been a nice character so far (and is clearly outright unhinged at times), but it's hard to not feel some degree of sympathy for her when Betty drags her into the scheme to get FP off. ''Especially'' when Betty blackmails her into giving a false testimony in court, which is a ''serious'' legal offense.
** Except for the fact that she technically didn't. Sure she doesn't know it but episode 13 outright states that Clifford did threaten FP into making a false confession by threatening Jughead and since Jughead knows this( it's his narration that tells us this in episode 13 ) then it's likely FP told the police too but wasn't believed until Cheryl gave her testimony.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Jughead. Not wanting to be torn apart from his dad? Understandable. Being on board with using a scheme that involves blackmail, including to make a lie while under oath? Not so much.

With Cheryl as the victim of said blackmail.
