* SpiritualSuccessor: Believe it or not, at the time of her debut Pixie was compared to Music/LadyGaga. She was also compared to Music/AmyWinehouse, Music/{{Sugababes}}, Duffy, Music/{{Adele}} and Music/JossStone due to her soulful sound. In 2011 and 2012 she was often compared to Music/KatyPerry and Music/JessieJ, but now she's Music/LanaDelRey - lite.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: The intense patty-cake / capoeira hybrid dance towards the end of the "Mama Do" video. Perhaps a G-rated form of a MatingDance?

* {{Earworm}}:
--> ''What would my MAAAAAAAAA-ma doo-ooo/Uh oh, uh oh...''
** A good portion of her songs are earworms, especially "Boys and Girls" and "Turn it Up".
* EpicRiff: "Cry Me Out" is supposedly this.

* SophomoreSlump / {{Sequelitis}} / FollowUpFailure: Pixie's debut album, ''Turn It Up'', peaked at number six on the albums chart, was certified 2x platinum and received relatively positive reviews from critics. Her second album, ''Young, Foolish, Happy'', debuted at number eighteen before falling to number forty-two in the second week (eventually being certified Gold) and received mixed to negative reviews from critics. However, it did spawn three top-ten singles, including a Number One in "All About Tonight".

* CoveredUp: Her song "What U Do" is set to become this, as it's been given to Music/GirlsGeneration for their new album.
** Her cover of the King of Leon hit "Use Somebody" probably qualifies as this to young pop fans.

* LimitedSpecialCollectorsUltimateEdition: ''Turn It Up Louder'' contained ''ten'' extra tracks plus one remix (of the single "Broken Arrow") and alternate cover art. This edition was released with tracks apparently slated to be on the US standard edition of the album, which never eventuated. A previous "deluxe edition" released around Christmas 2009 came with six bonus tracks, including a rendition of [[ChristmasSongs "Silent Night"]].

** "Nasty" was originally meant to be a single for Music/ChristinaAguilera , but she turned it down. The song had been circulating on the web for a good three years before Pixie's version got released. Pixie basically had to fight for the rights to it as she'd found out it had been recorded by a few other singers.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The melody line in "Coming Home" sounds rather a lot like Cutting Crew's "(I Just Died) In Your Arms". "Mama Do" also shares a basic melody with Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" and "Boys and Girls" sounds suspiciously close to both Rihanna's "Shut Up and Drive" and the ''Film/HighSchoolMusical'' number "I Want It All".
