The fact that they finally don't hit the ResetButton in response to the world learning of Danny's ghost powers is also a plus. Although that ResetButton was eventually hit in A Glitch in Time.

It should be the easiest plot in the world to do right in a superhero series, making it doubly tragic that it generally wasn't, in this case.

While it's understandable that Danny seemed to have all but given up, her use of words like "one of the crowd" hints more to the former. However her stating "Now ''that's'' the Danny I know. So much for sitting on the sidelines, huh?" when he decides to come up with a plan to save the Earth from the Disasteroid ''before'' he gets his powers back does lean toward the latter interpretation more.
