* HoYay: Pee-wee is willing to travel across the entire country to see a completely random guy at his birthday he just met, and more or less rejects every single female he encounters (which, admittedly, is pretty consistent with the character). Same with Joe Manganiello, having built a miniature of Pee-wee's hometown, sharing root beer barrels in a tiny tree house, riding a motorcycle off into the sunset together at the end of the movie, it just goes on and on. The fantasies Pee-wee has throughout the movie are pretty obvious as well. Their relationship is played out more like two 9-year-olds who really hit it off than an actual romance --or even a bromance-- but the movie does nothing to dissuade the viewer from thinking otherwise.
