Possibly because of the polarized response, ''Minecraft HC #4'' went back to the classic theme. Averted with the new theme introduced in ''Minecraft HC #5'', which was more well-received overall.
** When the group of 7 split up during ''Minecraft HC #5'', silhouettes were used for the group members whose perspectives were not being observed. While this worked in ''[=MineZ=]''[[note]]Since they were so far apart that, even if one team could hear the other in trouble, they couldn't do anything to assist them. As well as the fact that in ''[=MineZ=]'', a player's death message won't appear to anyone else if the player in question is too far away[[/note]], and many aren't bothered by its return, some fans complained that this fixed perspective is redundant and primarily exists as a cheap way to create false tension and suspense, especially considering [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks none of the other Minecraft seasons did this.]] The immersion is somewhat broken anyways in that during the first perspective split, at one point, Ray goes into the house and meets the second team, and because the calls were separated, he couldn't update them on their situation vocally.

** People are starting to think that, in ''Terraria HC #3'', the videos are relying a bit too much on clickbait titles that turn out to refer to innocuous parts of the video. For example, "BETRAYED!" ends up just referring to the group splitting into teams and PBG feeling betrayed because no one picked him for their team, "SPIDERS AND DEATH!" refers to the fact that Dean, [=McJones=], and Lucah found a big den of spiders... which they never entered and in fact just spent the entire episode tediously digging around and trying to flood it for fun, and "LEFT BEHIND!" refers to [=McJones=] accidentally warping away from Lucah in a cave, stranding her, only to then immediately run back down to get her with neither of them ever in any real danger. But for everyone who complains about this, at least one other person will defend PBG and the group, saying the titles are ''supposed'' to intrigue you, and that there wouldn't be much point in naming a video something plain and calm because then viewers would know ahead of time that nothing happens.

** ProtonJon debuted in ''Terraria HC #2'' and quickly became one of the show's most popular guest stars. He especially had a chance to shine in the second half of the season once [[spoiler:the party was reduced to just him, Jeff, and [=McJones=], where the three of them formed a fantastic dynamic with each other. [=ProtonJon=] also went on to last an impressively long time.]] When it was announced that the upcoming ''Terraria HC #3'' would feature a returning guest star, many hoped it would be [=ProtonJon=], which became a reality. [[spoiler: And of course, many lament the loss of Jon when his triumphant return was cut off.]]
** Despite his initial status as a BaseBreaker, Dean has slowly become this as the series has gone on. As of ''Minecraft HC #4'', his hatedom has quieted down, and he's instead been receiving a lot of love from fans.
* FridgeBrilliance: [[spoiler:[=ProtonJon=]'s]] funeral in ''Terraria HC #2'' is already pretty [[TheFunInFuneral hilarious]], but keep in mind that if it had happened just a few episodes later, [[spoiler:Jeff and [=McJones=]]] would have been dressed up, respectively, as ''the Grim Reaper and a ghost''.

* HarsherInHindsight: In Episode 4 of ''Minecraft HC 2'', [[spoiler:there's a joke about "Forever Alone Barry" that takes on a whole new light when he ends up being the last survivor in the finale.]] It even applies to the last episode of Minecraft #1. [[spoiler:Barry won his and Jon's duel at the end, meaning he was the sole survivor of that season too.]]

** [=McJones=] shouting "YOU TRAPPED ME IN" in the intro for ''Minecraft HC #3'' gets a lot darker when you realize [[spoiler:it's what he says before Shane inadvertently traps him in a room filling with lava, leading to his death. Downplayed slightly in that [=McJones=] would probably have still died even if Shane hadn't trapped him.]]

** In ''[=MineZ=] HC'', [=McJones=] and PBG talk about the awful luck that occurred with [[spoiler: Dean, as he was poisoned twice. Unbeknownst to them, Dean was actually poisoned a ''THIRD'' time.]]

*** In ''Terraria HC #1'', [[spoiler:they were also the final two survivors, although that was ''way'' back before the advent of PB & Jeff.]]
** Jon's description on every Terraria #3 video seems MUCH harsher now that [[spoiler: what was described to be his style of play led to his demise.]]

Every season since then has taken itself more seriously, with the overall production quality having improved greatly.
