Despite this, many have argued that if Disney wanted to have Genie speak, they should've gotten Creator/DanCastellaneta (who is still alive and had been TheOtherDarrin for Genie in ''WesternAnimation/TheReturnOfJafar'', ''WesternAnimation/AladdinTheSeries'', and the ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' series) or Jim Mesikmen (the current voice of Genie since 2008 and who also voices Merlin and Eeyore in the short) to voice him instead.

** While many people would assume that the short's finale is the first time that countless characters sang, a few actually did sing before then.
