* DifficultySpike: Day 10. Once this day is reached, a new kind of hunter appears: the D-1000- A juggernaut that shoots three times a cycle, cannot be outrun, and can take a lot of damage. In addition to this, Hunter waves will become much more common and numerous, the ship will begin to fall apart much more rapidly than before, and the length of the trip will make resources like food and oxygen scarce without conducting any planetary explorations. The difficulty continues to ramp up every 5 days - most ships do not manage to even reach Day 15, let alone Day 20.* ScrappyMechanic: If ''anyone'' in your party dies, it's an immediate game over. This, combined with the fact that the game relies on a checkpoint system and the player cannot save during missions, can make some missions [[FakeDifficulty far more difficult than they should be.]]
