* AuthorsSavingThrow: "One Bad Apple" got some criticism that Babs being bullied herself wasn't enough of an excuse for how big a jerk she was to the CMC. But here we get confirmation of just how much worse bullying can be in Manehattan, while keeping in tone to its RealLife counterpart.

** This combined with Fridge Brilliance: Rainbow Dash laughs that ponies randomly bursting into song is silly. While it's a subtle jab at the show itself (and is immediately lampshaded as such), Rainbow Dash is the only one of the Mane Six to not have a song of her own outside the "Find A Pet" song. Otherwise the only times she's ever sung is the groups songs (at least at the time, as Season 5 finally did give her one of her own).

* FanficFuel: Involving Suri Polomare. A few fics have been written where Suri gets called out or even arrested (!) for her actions during the episode. Other fics were written about Suri getting revenge on Rarity afterwards.

* HarsherInHindsight: Coco Pommel is named after fashion figure Coco Chanel, who was a Nazi sympathizer during the Third Reich's occupation of France and stole many of her assets used to make her fortune from Jews. Although Chanel was exiled from France, she was not convicted by the Americans and British which made her more renown as the fashion figure she is today. So although Hasbro did not have this little detail in mind due to her lack of prosecution, it becomes far more ironic that her namesake in the show helps expose a fashion fraud that stole her design from Rarity.

** Then again, there are hints that Suri was always selfish even before coming to Manehatten, seeing she only views Ponyville as a stepping stone for her ambitions.

* MagnificentBastard: Suri Polomare [[SmallNameBigEgo believes herself to be this]] when she convinces the Mane Six that Prim Hemline awarded the prize to her.

* FridgeBrilliance:
** Considering how quickly she made the ''Rarity'' knockoffs compared to the Mane Six making their CurtainClothing, the theatrical company will probably be better off with Coco Pommel as costumer.
** Now that we know what Manehattan is like, it's ''very'' easy to see how [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E4OneBadApple Babs ended up the way she did]].
** While the episode never made any specific shoutouts to ''Series/ProjectRunway'', it clearly showed that Rarity would win hoofs-down in ''Runway'''s "Unconventional Challenges".
** It doesn’t make a lot of sense for that pony Rarity bumped into to have a Grumpy Cat Cutie Mark, since he became very friendly once he got the flower... until you remember that in RealLife, Tard is actually quite friendly, and her "grumpy" face is simply the effects of feline dwarfism.

* PanderingToTheBase: We have an episode rife with opportunities for a newly crowned Princess to throw her title around, yet Twilight is treated like any other pony in Manehattan. She isn't even given front-of-the-line privileges at a taxi stop! The writers seem to be deliberately downplaying her new title and her alicorn status out of fear of her being seen as a CanonSue.

* DeconstructionFic: Those who felt Suri was a KarmaHoudini have come up with these. Some of these have Suri getting a ReasonYouSuckSpeech from Prim Hemline, Rarity, or Coco Pommel; some have her getting the speech from two of the aforementioned ponies or even all three of them! At least one goes UpToEleven and have Suri exposed in the Manehattan press which destroys her reputation.
