* TearJerker: It's hard not to feel some sympathy for 8-Ball, a ''ComicBook/{{Sleepwalker}}'' rogue, for having lost his legitimate job because of his gambling addiction, his criminal career making him a SuperLoser [https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu4Ny-cPojG/?img_index=1 and his determination not to be the guy everyone thought he was.]]

* CompleteMonster: Issues #2-3: [[PsychoForHire Leonard Hawley]] is a man with [[{{Telepathy}} telepathic powers]] who loves to "raise hell" simply [[ForTheEvulz for the fun of it]], and hires himself out to villains so he can use his powers to hurt others in imaginative ways. Paid by Zodiac to torment Moon Knight, Hawley takes control of an entire old folks' home and uses the occupants to attack many people through the city. When Moon Knight investigates, Hawley plans to force Moon Knight to fight for his life through the dozens of seniors, knowing Moon Knight will have to cripple or kill them to survive. Challenged by Moon Knight to test his powers on him, Hawley gleefully tries to take control of Moon Knight so he can force the hero to slaughter the entire old folks' home then move onto the rest of the neighborhood.

** Zodiac was a character introduced in ComicBook/DarkReign and has not been seen since the Vengeance miniseries in 2012. As you can imagine, him reappearing as an ArcVillain 9 years later was guite a surprise.

** While past runs have are usually regarded as FairForItsDay when it comes to the handling of Marc's schizophrenia/dissociative identity disorder and battles with mental illness, they have also been criticized for dipping into the InsaneEqualsViolent trope in some uncomfortable ways, with the deliberate MaybeMagicMaybeMundane ambiguity of the nature of his DID being seen as unhelpful. In [=MacKay=]'s run, Steven and Jake give Marc a WhatTheHellHero and are emphatically clear that the problems in Marc's life have nothing to do with his neurodivergence and all to do with his own willful self-destructive behaviors and {{Wangst}}, and that he's actually making life harder for ''them'' rather than the other way around.

** It's revealed several issues in that Marlene and the daughter she had with Marc both left him after the events of Jason Aaron's "Fist of Khonshu" story, which was one of the few positives in Bemis' run. While Marlene is something of a minor BaseBreakingCharacter in the franchise (mostly owing to her DependingOnTheWriter characterisation), and Bemis' writing didn't exactly paint her well, many fans ''liked'' the idea of Marc healing and the two becoming a more stable couple, and their daughter was a likeable kid character.
** To a lesser extent, none of the typical Moon Knight supporting cast appear, which is understandable for the most part since many had been PutOnABus long ago, but notably, Jake Lockley and Steven Grant are both absent too, with Marc claiming they only emerge occasionally for minutes at a time. Lemire's run, which was generally well-liked, saw them restored and Bemis' run, though its use of them was controversial, still ''used'' them, so their absence is felt. However, with Steven's appearance at the end of the Zodiac Arc, and solicits promising their further appearance, this may become less of an issue.

The left hand is often associated with darkness and is literally called the "sinister" hand, as opposed to the right hand being the "dexter" hand. ** Dr. Sterman asks if being a priest of Khonshu while also Jewish is a contradiction. While Mr. Knight says that "contradictions are nothing new to me," there is the fact that Judaism is an ethnoreligion, so Marc Spector can be ethnically and culturally Jewish and religiously a part of the Cult of Khonshu without there being any contradiction.
