* GeniusBonus: While it's understandable to assume Eye Guy is simply some freaky monster covered in eye balls, his design is in fact based on Argus, the giant with one hundred eyes from [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Greek mythology]] (his name in the original ''Zyuranger'' episode is even "Dora Argus").

* VillainBall: Why capture the kid when instead gaslighting him would have been more effective? He may have asked to be taken to Rita's palace voluntarily, allowing her to put a spell on him.
* WhatAnIdiot: Rather than try to use Willie's dejection to turn it to bitterness to get him to join them voluntarily, Eye Guy just captures him. Willie even curiously asks "who are you?" without a sign of fear or disgust. A better solution would have involved convincing him to come voluntarily, then asking for a demonstration of his genius, being overly friendly to trick Williw, maybe placing a spell on him if he has second thoughts, assigning him as an assistant to Finster. Then he could have used his genius to make something to protect Eye Guy's main eye, putting them in a tough situation long before Dragonzord or Titanus were ever in the picture. Or at the very least, would have made the Rangers' attempts to rescue Willie a lot harder than just trashing another MonsterOfTheWeek.

* StockFootageFailure: When Billy is blasted by Eye Guy, someone can be seen on the ground behind him briefly before the screen pans. It's actually the girl from Finster's flashback who was the VictimOfTheWeek in the ''Zyuranger'' equivalent.
