* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Likely due to the diminishing popularity of the series and the need to rush the story. But after the manga makes a big deal out of "The Masterpieces" (basically people who had Fake [=ARMs=] implanted in them, allowing them to turn into the [=ARMs=] themselves) and the battle with Vivi. Come the final battle, the Masterpieces just let the three main characters go on to the face Unwetter and even give Kai the remaining magic stones. Granted they battle Dorothy, Alviss and Nanashi, but it's mostly offscreen and pointless in the long run. They aren't even really defeated, they just lose their powers after [[spoiler: Atmos]] is beaten.

* FanonDiscontinuity: Most fans don't consider this series part of the canon. Mostly due to the plot point of Baboo being a father to Kai when it was revealed in the original serious he had also housed the soul of Ginta's father. The lack of the rest of the original MAR characters also contributed as well as unlikeablity of Kai in general.
