Mephisto has all but admitted to a crush on Auriana, but fans seem to much, much prefer him with Talia, whom he barely interacts with.

** This trope may be the reason that, as of 2019, there has been no news or updates about the show's continuation, to the point no one knows if the show is on hiatus or outright cancelled.
** Update: [[https://teamlolirock.tumblr.com/post/634030417002037248/what-happened-to-lolirock As of November 2020]], it's been confirmed that the series was expensive to make, with many production issues, and that no greenlight had ever been given for a Season 3. It's not outright cancelled, just in indefinite hiatus.

** Fans also like the idea of Mephisto and Iris together. This is mostly stems from the fact that the MonsterOfTheWeek makes Mephisto fall in love with Iris in the third episode during a battle and in season two where Mephisto himself stating that if he wasn't working for Gramorr, he would have no problem working alongside her.

* SoOkayItsAverage: General consensus is that it's not a bad show and has a very nice art style and animation with some nice music to boot. But if one has seen any other magical girl show, this one doesn't bring anything new to the table that hasn't already been covered in others (amnesiac heroine who happens to be a princess from another world is taken over by evil, bumbling henchmen, conflicts that tie into the plot of the episode, etc). Slow plot progression is also noted to be a factor -- heck, the season one finale pretty much ''resets'' the progression, forcing the girls to find the gems again and leaving them no closer to stopping the BigBad. Only difference now was that they have two new members.

Critical Research Failure is a disambiguation page

* AccidentalInnuendo: The very title of the series, ''[[LoliconAndShotacon Loli]]''rock. Even if WordOfGod is that the first part of the name comes from "LOL", many internet users don't buy it, and instead believe it was probably a CriticalResearchFailure that led the producers to use a piece of Japanese slang without knowing that said slang is sexually charged and morally controversial. The way the characters are drawn doesn't really help.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: What ever happened to Iris’ magical singing voice? They could’ve explored more of it or at least it be a recurring part of her skillset, or just at least let her use it in episodes after To Find A Princess, even just once. But nope, they decided to sweep that under the rug. Did her voice just stop doing things after she transformed for the first time? The world may never know.
* UnfortunateImplications: Episode 8, which was so bad, [[http://teamlolirock.tumblr.com/post/158961249748/s01e08-talia-and-kyle-sitting-in-a-tree the creators apologized]] for it. The premise was supposed to be Talia going on a date, but it's handled terribly.
** Talia is made out to be a bad person for not being interested. She doesn't have a particularly bad attitide, nor is she ever really rude to Kyle. She's simply not interested. And the audience is supposed to disagree with this.
** Kyle is never called out for his borderline stalker-ish behavior (repeatedly pursuing her, using gifts to win her affection, showing up at her home with no permission). In fact, the episode treats him like he's entitled to Talia's affection by virtue of having a crush on her.
** Iris and Auriana are never called out for violating Talia's privacy (giving Kyle her phone number without her consent), and just being bad friends in general for not respecting Talia's feelings.
** Praxina taunts Talia for believing Kyle was her boyfriend, which never happened, so it comes out of nowhere.
** On top of all the above, the ''very next episode'' has Talia and Iris apologize to Auriana for teasing her about being boy-crazy. If not for the previous episode, this premise would've been fine. It's no wonder that in a show aimed at girls, episode 8 received so many complaints.

* WhatAnIdiot: In "I Want My LTV", the girls, who are trying to make a music video, stumble across Mephisto and Praxina who are trying to film a music video. While it's {{lampshade|Hanging}}d that it's suspicious, the one thing that sticks out is that they ask for them to remove their jewellery during filming. And the girls need these jewellery. Let that sink in for a minute.

* NoSuchThingAsBadPublicity: As said above, [[Narm the very title of the series is awkwardly funny]], though it might have helped somewhat to the show's popularity given that most of its expectation before its premiere in Disney Channel came from older viewers exhilarated at it and wanting to find out what was it about.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Some of Gramorr's interactions with Banes have seemed more like Banes is smarter than he looks. This either means Banes is the true enemy, and Gramorr knows this, but dies with the secret at the end. More evidenced by the fact that their last look at each other is somewhat of Banes saying "You have failed me for the last time."
