Ironically enough, however, [[spoiler: the AlternateContinuity of Parts 7 and 8 is actually ''completely'' unrelated to the reset depicted in Part 6]].

* SugarWiki/SuperlativeDubbing: As with Parts 3, 4, and 5, the English dub of ''Stone Ocean'' has received tons of praise for how well the personalities and raw emotions of the characters are able to be captured within the English talents. It also helps that, like the Japanese dub of ''Stone Ocean'', its English dub is filled to the brim with {{Promoted Fanboy}}s who have had years of experience with ''[=JoJo=]'', and thus know the characters they're playing by heart. Jotaro and DIO are once again performed phenomenally by Creator/MatthewMercer and Creator/PatrickSeitz, with the latter not having voiced DIO in over 3 years yet still nailing the role, and even some talents who haven't had work in years were brought on, such as Creator/DinoAndrade playing the role of Yo-Yo Ma. On top of all that, since the series had transitioned from Creator/AdultSwim to Creator/{{Netflix}}, there were no longer any concerns of having to appease network censors, meaning the cast got to [[PrecisionFStrike swear]] all they want in accordance to the original manga. Special highlights in the way of performances go to the actors playing the main characters, including Creator/TianaCamacho as Ermes, Creator/HowardWang as Anasui, Creator/BrittanyLauda as F.F., and in particular, Creator/CaseyMongillo as Emporio, Creator/StephenFu as Weather Report, and Creator/KiraBuckland as Jolyne.

* FandomEnragingMisconception: Blaming [[spoiler:Pucci's escape during the Heavy Weather fight (and ergo, Weather Report's death)]] on Jolyne can cause this. While she isn't entirely out of blame, since [[spoiler:she was in the car guiding Donatello and showed up at the wrong time, Donatello himself was the one driving it. Furthermore, the erratic condition of Heavy Weather's powers made everything very hectic, which unfortunately caused the car to crash]]. ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse'' would have Miles Morales be voiced in Japanese by Giorno's VA Creator/KenshoOno whereas Miguel O'Hara, the film's antagonist and a fatalist who believes in accepting tragedy as an inevitable part of one's life just like Pucci, would be voiced by Pucci's VA Creator/TomokazuSeki, leading to numerous ''Jojo'' fans joking that they would finally get their belated Giorno vs. Pucci faceoff in these films.

** Before the anime was announced, it was very common for fans to make jokes, memes, and fanart comparing Enrico Pucci to fellow villainous SinisterMinister Kirei Kotomine from the ''Franchise/FateSeries'', resulting in Kotomine's voice actor Creator/JojiNakata being a very popular fancast for Pucci. Fans eventually got their [[AscendedFanCast wishes]] when Joji Nakata voiced him in the official Ultra Jump ''Stone Ocean'' commercials as well as ''[[VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureEyesOfHeaven Eyes of Heaven]]''. Come the anime adaptation, Pucci was recast again, but this time as none other than Creator/TomokazuSeki, who famously voiced Kotomine's partner-in-crime Gilgamesh, and whose resemblance to DIO and similar levels of HoYay towards Kotomine were one of the main reasons people started comparing Pucci to the latter in the first place. These castings also had the side effect of accidentally making Pucci's first voice actor being Creator/ShowHayami in ''[[VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureAllStarBattle All Star Battle]]'' a lot funnier, since he played Tokiomi, the last member of Kotomine and Gilgamesh's triumvirate in ''Anime/FateZero''.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: Although the fight still isn't necessarily popular, the anime adaptation managed to make most fans more forgiving of the fight against Kenzō and Dragon's Dream, as, like [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind King Crimson]], the effects of the Stand were made easier to comprehend through the anime thanks to animation allowing for both the actions of Dragon's Dream and Anasui's explanation of Feng Shui to be better visualized than in still imagery. Additionally, Kenzō and Dragon's Dream were voiced by veteran seiyuus Creator/{{Mugihito}} and Creator/{{Cho}} respectively, both of whom give them hammy and memorable performances and some pretty hilarious dynamics.

** Pucci crossed this before the part began when he [[spoiler:killed Emporio's mother with Whitesnake's illusory acid in order to gain her Stand disc]].
** Sports Maxx crossed it when he killed Ermes' sister [[LeaveNoWitnesses after she saw him carrying out a mob hit]].
** Kenzō crossed it back when he was still a cult leader, manipulating over 30 people into ''burning themselves alive.''
** Miumiu crosses it when she surrounds Jolyne and Emporio with the prison's entire security squadron and orders them to open fire on Jolyne, [[SmugSnake bragging about it to her face]] and not caring whether or not [[WouldHurtAChild Emporio gets caught in the crossfire]].
** Like [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Cioccolata]] before him, Ungalo crosses it when he instigates a full-scale terrorist attack in an attempt to kill a small group of people who were hindering his boss' plans, not caring about the innocents killed as collateral. ''Unlike'' Cioccolata, whose rampage was (mostly) limited to Rome, Ungalo's Stand spreads its chaos across ''the entire world''.
** Donatello Versus may ellicit a bit of sympathy at first thanks to his DarkAndTroubledPast, but that flies out the window when he uses his Stand to reenact a plane crash that had only two survivors, then places ''three'' sick children in the plane with Jolyne and Ermes, not only attempting to [[SadisticChoice force them to choose between themselves and the kids]], but also ensuring that even if they did sacrifice themselves, [[WouldHurtAChild one child would still die]]. [[LackOfEmpathy Versus also does not show any remorse for this]], claiming that [[NeverMyFault their deaths are Jolyne and Ermes' fault]] because they fought back against him.
** The nameless detective from [[spoiler:Pucci and Weather's backstory might've crossed it before as being part of the KKK, but we see him definitely cross it when he instigates a riot and burns down the house of Weather's family, beats him up, and sexually assaults his girlfriend before deciding to hang him by the cliffside, causing Perla's suicide]].

* ValuesDissonance: In the manga, while playing catch, Jolyne randomly says that F.F. throws, "like a queer",[[note]]In the original Japanese, she describes F.F. as looking like an "okama" (a Japanese-language slur interchangeably referring to CampGay or otherwise effeminate men, crossdressers, and trans women), which was changed in the tankobon release to the more neutral "gei" (which is more associated with MachoCamp or ManlyGay men).[[/note]] something that would probably be commonplace in the West (especially among hardened delinquents like Jolyne) in the early 2000s, the time of release, as well as 2011, when the story takes place, but would probably be quite a no-no since at least 2014. This phrase is even more confusing given the story's own hints about Jolyne being AmbiguouslyBi, if her reaction to [[spoiler:Heavy Weather's snails]] is any indication. Possibly aware of this fact, David Production opted to leave the line out of the anime. However, there is still a nod to this dialogue in the first opening, "STONE OCEAN", which features [[VisualPun a rainbow over F.F. throwing a baseball]].

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Often described as the part where Araki was preparing himself to leave ''Shonen Jump''. While ''Golden Wind'' had its moments, ''Stone Ocean'' is filled with even more gratuitous violence, many Stands with abilities that are [[NightmareFuel outright frightening]], tons of sexual content, and having a cast of mostly older females.

** A rather [[MemeticMutation memetic]] example of this is the suicidal janitor Thunder [=McQueen=], who, while named after fashion designer Alexander [=McQueen=], also has a name strikingly similar to ''[[WesternAnimation/{{Cars}} Lightning McQueen]]'', whose movie actually released several years after ''Stone Ocean''.

* AssPull: the conclusion to the Yo Yo Ma fight relies on several pieces of information that were never established or foreshadowed: that Diver Down can enter other stands in addition to regular matter; that remote control stands have "target sensors" that can be targeted or manipulated, affecting the stands behavior; and that wiring a brain into these sensors will cause the stand to take on the behavior of the brain. As opposed to the clever manipulation of fight parameters that characterize most stand battles, this resolution essentially boils down to "give opponent an instant lobotomy"
