* BreatherBoss:
** The fights with Nena and ZZ following the battle with Hol Horse and J. Geil which [[spoiler: ended in Avdol's death.]] Both of these fights are much more comedic and don't really give the protagonists much difficulty. Especially lampshaded in the fight with Nena where Polnareff doesn't realize that he was interacting with one of DIO's henchmen until Nena dies.
** After the rather long fight with Steely Dan that nearly killed Joseph the next assassin the protagonists encounter is Arabia Fats. While the fight seems hopeless at first, it ends up being a pushover when Fats gives away the fact that he's hiding and after Jotaro throws a rock at him the sequence is over.
** The encounter with the Oingo Boingo Brothers after the nearly fatal encounter with N'Dhoul. Neither of the brothers attempt to fight the protagonists directly with Boingo not taking any action at all, and Oingo trying but his plans quickly working against him. In fact its Oingo who is ultimately HoistByHisOwnPetard doing himself in, and the protagonists don't even realize that someone was attempting to attack them.
** The protagonists find themselves in an intense string of consecutive encounters with Anubis, Mariah, Alessi, and Daniel J. D'Arby. What comes afterwards? Hol Horse and Boingo attempting to get revenge on the protagonists and failing epicly. Hol Horse at least tries to take action against the protagonists but none of them take him seriously and following Boingo's Stand doesn't do him any favors. Boingo on the other hand once again avoids the action but even then ends up getting attacked by Iggy as the result of an accident nonetheless.

** When the D'Arby Brothers lose their composure (Daniel's anger over his name being mispronounced, Terrence panicking whenever someone get's a lead), are they just faking it to throw their opponents off balance? Or is that foreshadowing of their inevitable {{Villainous Breakdown}}s and in Terrence's case is it just him being kind of petty?

** The original [=OVAs=] released in 1991 and 2000. Especially with the anime that aired in 2014, a lot of fans are left to debate over whether or not they still have a place in history or are expendable. Starting InMediasRes, cutting out many of the VillainOfTheWeek fights, and the more serious tone did go over well with some fans. However the [=OVAs=] did have a few accolades such as cutting out some of the less important fights, how Daniel D'Arby's battle was handled, and having an episode directed by Creator/SatoshiKon.

* SeinfeldIsUnfunny: How some fans have come to view the original OVAs thanks to the David Production anime. As seen in BrokenBase above, a lot of newer fans find the OVAs to be a weak adaptation of this part among problems with the more serious tone. However a lot of fans of the OVA often defend it by saying that at the time it was the best they could have gotten out of an anime.
* SuperlativeDubbing: Despite the dub currently only being a three episode test, the general response towards it was very positive. In particular many dub fans have praised Creator/RichardEpcar and Creator/PatrickSeitz as being perfect choices for Joseph and DIO respectively.

* WTHCastingAgency: Many fans have this reaction towards Nobuo Tanaka's take on DIO in the OVA. A lot of fans felt that his voice wasn't deep enough for DIO especially compared to DIO's future actors. * AmericansHateTingle: Due to the fact that the Part was the only one to be officially translated for the longest time, along with being the most [[WolverinePublicity obviously represented]], a number of western audience members don't enjoy it as much due to feeling it's [[HypeBacklash overhyped]], the story and its ideas [[SeinfeldIsUnfunny not coming off as original despite codifying a lot of them]], and [[BaseBreakingCharacter Jotaro]] feeling rather unlikable.

* AmericansHateTingle: Although ''Stardust Crusaders'' is by far the most popular part in Japan, Western fans tend to hold it in lesser regard, [[ExecutiveMeddling due to being the only part]] [[HypeBacklash marketed everywhere else]]. It is frequently considered to not have aged as well as many of the other parts, despite (or perhaps because of) it having [[SeinfeldIsUnfunny coined many of the tropes]] commonly seen in {{Shonen}} series today. Similarly, although Jotaro is the most iconic figure in the series in Japan, other fans perceive him as [[TheStoic bland]], [[NinetiesAntiHero uninteresting]], or even downright [[JerkAss unlikeable]] in comparison to most of the other protagonists.
* ArcFatigue:
** While all of the Stand arcs until ''Steel Ball Run'' get accused of this to some degree, ''Stardust Crusaders'' is considered the one that suffers the most due to having a extremely formulaic OnceAnEpisode MonsterOfTheWeek format against Stand users with little story relevance, not helped by the already-flimsy ExcusePlot. It becomes worse if you're not a huge fan of [[SpotlightStealingSquad Polnareff]] who takes up more screentime than Jotaro himself. It's alleviated briefly once the team reaches Egypt... only to resume the cycle once again. It doesn't help that ''SC'' is longer than Parts 1 and 2 ''combined''.
** Due to being extended quite a bit, the Egypt arc in the anime drags quite a bit, with a lot of random scenes with Iggy and other characters that don't really contribute much to anything.

Creator/VizMedia licensed the manga before any other part including ''Phantom Blood'' and ''Battle Tendency'' and when {{Website/Crunchyroll}} announced their test dub it was for the first three episodes of the anime while it was still airing yet the 2012 anime had been long completed. Even in Japan, ''Eyes of Heaven'' included 12 playable characters from this part five of which were minor antagonists. On the other hand, ''Stone Ocean'', ''Steel Ball Run'', and ''Jojolion'' had less than half of that amount for their playable characters and fan favorites and major characters from those parts like Foo Fighters, Hot Pants, and Yasuho weren't playable.

** Sadly Joseph suffers from this trope in this part. Despite defeating the Pillar Men in ''Battle Tendency'', Joseph hardly gets any action in this part and his Stand isn't even one that is used for fighting. Vaguely Recalling [=JoJo's=] Bizarre Adventure even lampshades his crudeness as '''DIO''' is even afraid of him.

** Hol Horse, who had signs of strongly considering a HeelFaceTurn, [[WhatCouldHaveBeen and even would have had Avdol not returned]], and is generally one of the more popular minor villains in the series. Instead, he suffers heavily from (admittedly hilarious) BadassDecay.
** While Noriaki Kakyoin was a major ally for a good chunk of the story, he was hit hard with this during the Egypt section of Part 3, being PutOnABus to recover until [[BackForTheDead the Crusaders were heading into DIO's place.]] He gets set up to have a cool fight against Terence, [[HopeSpot but]] ends up losing and generally doing nothing more of significance [[spoiler:except for leaving a DyingClue.]]
*** At least the anime adds some scene that gives him some development, such as flashbacks. And if his image song "Goodbye Nostalgia" is anything to go by, may have had a low view on himself.
** Muhammad Avdol gets it even worse. After recruiting Polnareff, he was PutOnABus when the Crusaders reached India (fairly early in the story) and only returned by the end of the Judgment arc. He doesn't do much of significance upon his return, and he only has two fights afterwards; one shared with Joseph and the other [[spoiler:is barely even a fight since he ended up being killed by Vanilla Ice in one shot.]] And all of this is an ''improvement'' on the original gameplan, that he would've just straight died in India and been replaced with his killer. All in all, it's pretty clear that Araki had no clue what else to do with the poor guy.

* BrokenBase:
** The VillainOfTheWeek format has really divided fans in regards to this part. Some like it since it allows the story to move fast and introduces a colorful variety of enemies. Others felt it ended up getting repetitive after awhile (especially in the first half) alongside of the fact that not many of the minor villains were very interesting.
** The original OVAs released in 1991 and 2000. Starting InMediaRes, cutting out many of the VillainOfTheWeek fights, and the more serious tone did go over well with some fans. ** The English dub removing the accents from the dubs of ''Phantom Blood'' and ''Battle Tendency''. For some they were the weakest part of those dubs and removing them was for the better while for others the accents made the dub more fun and removing them wasn't as good an idea.
** Some fans have actually debated over whether or not Iggy's original design or later design is better.
* DracoInLeatherPants:
** Dio gets its as much as he did in ''Phantom Blood''. Made even more apparent due to him becoming a FashionVictimVillain.
** Some of Dio's henchmen like Midler, N'Dhoul, Mariah, and the D'Arby Brothers have their evil qualities toned down in fan works.

** Mohammed Avdol to the point where [[spoiler: he was brought back after supposedly dying due to his popularity.]]
** Noriaki Kakyoin has become one of the most popular supporting protagonists in the entire franchise thanks to MemeticMutation and becoming a LauncherOfAThousandShips.
** Thanks to the anime, Iggy has started getting a lot of attention among the fandom due to the anime adding in extra scenes involving him and [[spoiler: his HeroicSacrifice]] during the fight with Vanilla Ice.
** Some of Dio's henchmen have gained strong followings among the fandom notably, Hol Horse, N'Dhoul, the Oingo Boingo Brothers, Mariah, the D'Arby Brothers, and Pet Shop.
** Due to the Capcom fighting game, Midler has a sizable following among the long time fans with Araki giving her an attractive redesign.
* GrowingTheBeard:
** Many feel that ''Stardust Crusaders'' is where the franchise began to show it's true colors by embracing its own absurdity and the introduction of Stands allowing for more creative battles.
** For ''Stardust Crusaders'' itself, a lot of people seem to agree that the Egypt arc is where it really picked up due to introducing more interesting minor villains and having some of the most memorable fights in the franchise.
