* OneSceneWonder: [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_T._Burn#19th_Amendment Harry Burn]], the Senator who [[spoiler: broke the tie to pass the 19th Amendment. He had originally decided to vote against it, but he received a telegram from his mother telling him to support the amendment. (Arguably, she could be one herself for having such an impact without ever appearing on screen. TruthInTelevision.]]

* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: Why are they called the Iron Jawed Angels? It's not because they had their mouths pried open with metal instruments and were force-fed raw eggs through a tube shoved down their throat. But after watching that scene, that's all you'll think of. (Well, that and the aforementioned bathtub scene.) Made even scarier by the fact that it's TruthInTelevision. And really, all of the prison scenes qualify.
