* AssPull: The Sanderson Sisters survive [[spoiler:getting burned alive in the kiln]]--because [[spoiler:their spell prevents them from being killed on Halloween Night]]. This is never foreshadowed or set up in any way: the audience is only told that the spell would ''resurrect'' them on Halloween Night for a single day, and the entire premise hinges on the fact that they can be killed just like anybody else.

This is never foreshadowed or set up in any way: the entire premise hinges on the fact that they can be killed just like anybody else, since they were hanged in the backstory, and the audience is only told that the spell would ''resurrect'' them on Halloween Night for a single day, and the entire premise hinges on the fact not that they can be killed just like anybody else.[[spoiler: it would make them temporarily immortal]].

* EvilIsSexy: Sarah is played by Sarah Jessica Parker in her prime, with beautiful blonde hair, a dress that shows plenty of cleavage, and numerous innuendo-laden lines. She's a HotWitch if ever there was one. But when she lovingly serenades children, it's clear that she ''is'' evil and dangerous:
--> ''Come little children, I'll take thee away...''

!Tropes associated with the video game
*AnticlimaxBoss: Trolodon isn't all that difficult, since he only has a single attack- shooting a fireball straight ahead.
*CatharsisFactor: After defeating the first several Mad Monks at the end of Episode 1, which may prove challenging for first-time players, you can get a Rapid Fire potion that allows you to almost effortlessly blow away the remaining Mad Monks, since, unlike the other bosses, they were designed to be defeated without rapid fire.
*ThatOneBoss: The Tree Demons, the bosses of Episode 2. They're the only bosses that lack a ranged attack, but they make up for it by having lots of health and killing you instantly if they collide with you. Special mention should be given to one Tree Demon midway through the level- you have to use the jump potions to escape before he reaches you, get another rapid fire and jump potion and repeat the process until one of you is dead.
*ThatOneLevel:
** Episode 4, Level 1 is the first level to not give any potions, and a taste of the DifficultySpike present in that episode.
** Episode 4, Level 8. It's long, has no healing potions and has plenty of foes, especially ones that can surround and surprise you.

** Then there is Mr. Binx, Emily and Thackery's father. He finds out that [[MissingChild his little girl is missing]], and that his son is going after the local witches. ** Why is Binx [[spoiler: freed from his immortality curse]] in the end? Is it just a case of NoOntologicalInertia, because [[spoiler: the Sandersons are more [[KilledOffForReal truly dead]] than they were before, with no way ([[Film/HocusPocus2 for the time being]]) to bring them back]]? Or is it because [[spoiler: the curse was for him to live forever "with his guilt" over failing to save Emily, so helping to defeat the Sandersons and save Dani relieves his guilt and sets him free]]?

Not plot holes. Some even explained/lampshaded in the movie.

** When the kids enter Sanderson Sisters museum, Alison turns the lights on. If the place had been closed for 300 years, the electricity would have been shut off. The door was also left unlocked. But if these realities were observed, there would have not have been much of a movie to work with.

** In the climax of the movie, the Sanderson Sisters are left with just enough potion for a single child required to survive past the night. Winifred willfully ignores the numerous children that Sarah lured to ge revenge on Dani for calling her ugly. However, there's no reason to go beyond wounded pride to go after Dani when the sisters could have used any of the hypnotized children and got their revenge later.
** As the kids make their second escape from the Sanderson Sisters house, Max could have ended the threat of the witches by simply blowing out the black flame candle, and for good measure, take the Book with them.
