** Many fans believed that [[spoiler:the video of Lorenzo rescuing a kitten was actally staged in order to help his campaign. It was confirmed in Chapter 10 when Amber reveals that the kitten was not a random stray, but one she's had for weeks, and she admitted that she deliberately released it in front of the horse so that she could film Lorenzo rescuing it.]]
** Book 3 of Class Act makes it appear that [[spoiler:Rory's father Martin is having an affair with Ms. Maddox, but many fans believed it would be a case of MistakenForCheating. They were correct; Martin eventually reveals that he and Diana are members of a support group for families of cancer patients, and there is nothing romantic between them.]]

* FranchiseOriginalSin: The plot of Bailey being accused of breaking Jordan's leg is similar to the plot of Jordan being accused of sabotaging tryouts. The difference is that Jordan has the option to stand up for themselves and tell off Hearst for accusing them without any proof, and they get an apology after everything is cleared up. In Class Act, you don't get those opportunities and the fandom criticizes Bailey for being unwilling to stand up for himself and the theatre kids for never apologizing to Bailey for the accusation.

** Jordan. Some people liked Jordan all the way through for their charisma, friendliness towards others, and standing up for the right thing. These are the main reasons why supporters believe Jordan should have remained the protagonist instead of creating a new one for ''Class Act''. Others argue that Jordan can be a Gary Stu/Mary Sue on occasion and became popular too quickly despite being the new kid. Some even think that Jordan stopped being likable after Book 2 and that their character [[BadassDecay got downgraded from someone who exposed their principal as a criminal to someone who let bullies walk all over them]] and acted melodramatic at times (though this can be avoided if you give them more backbone). Another group dislike the amounts of CharacterShilling Jordan gets in ''Class Act'', described as the most popular person in school, always fixes everyone's lives and excels at any club they join.

** Bailey. Some find them a ReplacementScrappy for those who like Jordan as they let people walk all over them without standing up for themselves and consider them flat. Others enjoy their dorky and awkward characterization as it makes them more interesting than Jordan.

Jordan is not necessarily male.

** In Book 3, Kara and Max are upset with Jordan because they think he's trying to steal their prom king and queen positions. The players who don't care about the positions are upset about the fact that there isn't a choice for them to decline being prom king, considering that the only way to not be prom king is to be rude and mean towards the Hearst students, despite some of them treating the Berry students with kindness.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Band and cheer suffer from this in Book 2. On one hand, it was wrong of Isa to divert their funding to the basketball team and suspend Aiden. On the other hand, cheering for Hearst during the game against them soured the fandom's view of the two clubs, especially since the basketball players have so far shown sympathy for them. This can also apply to Jordan as well if the player chooses to cheer for Hearst, especially if Jordan's a basketball player since unlike cheer and band, his team has the funding.
