To be fair though, the story happens to have A LOT of battle seeking maniacs that it makes having Vali all the more satisfying to have around. * TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The vampire war that takes place in volumes 15-17. The only reasons why the vampires got involved in the plot was just so the writer could introduce [[spoiler:Rizevim Lucifer]], and to give a bit of much needed CharacterDevelopment for Gasper. Some fans thought that the vampire civil war needed more time to take in and develop than what was given.
* ToughActToFollow: Not the show itself, but the show-stopping pole-dance ending-song sequence ''Study X Study'' from Season 1, with its [[EarWorm energetic and upbeat song]] and astoundingly fluid and well-designed animation (all animated by one man, mind you) set ''such'' a high standard (and became a Cult-Favourite amongst fans) that the second/third ending sequence from Season 2 simply couldnt top it, and hence the crew didn't even try.

* UnfortunateImplications: Issei's motivation is to become a high class devil so that he can gather a harem of female servants that he can have sex with. Viewed uncharitably, he essentially wants to become a SerialRapist that constantly engages in SexualExtortion of his subordinates. In practice however this is ''violently'' out of character for Issei and it's more likely that [[DidntThinkThisThrough he simply hasn't considered the implications of his objective]]. The story keeps introducing him to girls who wouldn't be opposed to having sex with him anyways, so the implications are something of a moot point.

The story keeps introducing him to girls who wouldn't be opposed to having sex with him anyways, so the implications are something of a moot point.
