further, i couldn't even correctly name the sous chef that roasted me for it. :sob:

** The John Dory Identification Incident For some unknown reason, Rina struggled immensely during the Protein Identification Challenge, slowing the team down by about 10 minutes or so. After FINALLY correctly guessing John Dory as the fish, the user behind her thought John Dory and scallops were the same thing at one point, leading to ridicule by Kyle Brent.

* HarsherInHindsight: At one point in Season 7, Mai would say that she and Donna were not that different, with the only difference being that Mai knew she was a shit person. Initially shown as Mai just hating Donna and wanting to get under her skin, the quote takes on a darker meaning as the user behind Donna was revealed to be a legitimate groomer. It also doesn't help that his character next season, Donovan, was derided for his creepy comments towards Fifi (among other things).

* VindicatedByHistory: Malcolm for a while was stuck with the stigma of being a strong, but unlikable chef who constantly dismissed the potential of a friendship with the popular Charles, on top of user drama permanently staining his reputation. It wasn't until a year later however that Malcolm was accepted to be a legitimately great character who's only bogged down by the fact he didn't return for the finale.

** Amateurs Season 2 featured Elizabeth, an executive chef who was quite weak in the kitchen, and also wasn't considered very interesting. There were initially plans to counteract this idea by having her get better and prove she deserved to be an executive chef, whilst also forming a rivalry with Altair. The user leaving however put an end to those plans.
** Amateurs Season 2 also featured Altair, who some felt was incredibly underestimated throughout the competition, and was being given a fairly interesting story where he was being shoved into the worst chefs category whilst not actually being that bad. It even would've gotten to the extent that during his elimination, Ramsay would've allowed him to keep his jacket, saying he's noticed the progress he's made. Unfortunately, due to the CreatorBreakdown that occurred, a mistake was given that saw him lie about sea bass, and it resulted in him quitting despite all the effort and praise he's gotten.

** There's also Pani from Amateurs Season 1. She was shown to have been starting an interesting feud with Olivia, on top of having a potential ShipTease with Heather. However, she wound up being the first boot, over Samantha nonetheless.

* ToughActToFollow: Pretty much widely agreed upon with Season 7, with having fan-favorite chefs such as DJ, Richard, and Donna, a strong antagonist in Rohan, and fixing multiple problems that plagued multiple seasons.

** Is Carbonara On Fish? During one service in season one, Flynn got confused on orders and ending up asking if carbonara (which usually came off the apps station) was on the fish station. This pretty much stuck with Flynn, to the point it's really the only notable thing about him.
** Very Brent-efishal. A running gag in season 3 saw Brent make numerous suggestive comments whenever he worked on dishes involving fish. Naturally, this resulted in several jokes made about this, including the possibly of Brent legitimately having sexual relations with them. Nowadays however, it's considered a DiscreditedMeme.

** Mac from Season 6 was very praised for being a genuinely solid antagonist, and being considered one of the best since Jangue from Season 2. Unfortunately, he ended up eliminated in 11th place, and not only was he eliminated too early to be brought back for the finale (some mention he should've replaced Larissa), but the remainder of the season had very little antagonistic influence, leading some to feel that Mac should've gone further and swapped places with someone (with the more common picks being Larissa or Tyson).

* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** From Season 2, there was Mehgan and Ewan, the former due to her being a no-nonsense chef, and the latter for being a hilarious LargeHam who showed himself to be a strong mentor figure to chefs like Craig and Danny, on top of being a strong chef. Ewan especially served to be incredibly popular, leading to him being brought back to compete in All-Stars.
** From Season 4, Hunter proved to be a particularly popular early boot due to his snarky attitude and early strong showing. It's even to the extent that fans wished he made the black jackets instead of Dee or Kelly.
** From Season 6, Brad, for being a NiceGuy who looked out for his team. There were definitely a few people who were not only shocked, but bummed out by his early elimination.
** Surprisingly enough, Mac as well. Despite his jerkish attitude, fans praised how strong of a villain he was overall, and it's not uncommon for fans to say he should've gone further in the competition.
** Despite being eliminated early on and being a BitchInSheepsClothing, Harper proved to be a well-liked competitor, due to her strategy of trying to hide who she really is, on top of foreshadowing the turn the season would take.
** Season 8 had both Kylian and Toby, for being some of the few early boots that were considered memorable for mostly good reasons.

* JerkassWoobie:
** From Season 7, Ben. He was rude for the most part and of course, didn't make many friends, but it's hard to not feel at least a bit of sympathy for him when he's being targeted by Rohan for rather poor reasons.
** From Season 8, Celine. Although she was extremely unpleasant, once it was revealed she was transgender, she received several jabs at her gender from the likes of Carl and Scott, leading to her becoming pretty sympathetic.
** Also from Season 8, Frankie. He's got a massive sarcastic streak, but with his backstory being implied to be very rough and him constantly getting nominated for unlucky breaks, it's easy to feel at least a little sorry for him.
