"Idiot Plot" is now Flame Bait.

* IdiotPlot: At its own expense, the film frames its own narrative as an example. Lampshaded as Grumpy Cat herself notes that if she and Crystal would have done the simple and obvious thing and gone to the police right away, there would be no movie. [[spoiler: Even when Crystal does get access to a cell phone, she calls her confused mom instead of 9-1-1 in order for the third act to have an obligatory chase scene.]] The villains aren't exactly the brightest bulbs either, frequently enduring providentially contrived and wholly avoidable setbacks.

"Animal dies" is an inevitability and not a valid example.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment:Any of the jokes centered around Grumpy Cat being put down or dying is this now that the cat herself died in 2019.

* TookTheBadFilmSeriously: Daniel Roebuck as the security guard George, in sharp contrast to the HamAndCheese stylings of every other character, actually puts in a pretty decent performance. His reveal to be [[spoiler: the true BigBad is surprisingly effective, as he plays both his [[ObfuscatingStupidity fake goofy personality]] and his true FauxAffablyEvil persona perfectly to where he's genuinely unnerving]].

* SoBadItsGood: Invoked. The movie is very corny and campy, and that adds to its charm. Grumpy's snarky attitude about the corniness also helps.

Cut trope.

* BrokenBase: The constant fourth wall breaks and BitingTheHandHumor. Funny additions that make the film have a more unique personality, or just a demonstration of [[TheyJustDidntCare how little effort was put into the movie]]?

** Grumpy Cat's personality is also this. While most agree that the DeadpanSnarker characterization was accurate to the character, there were debates over whether Grumpy Cat was all that, well, ''[[ShapedLikeItself grumpy]]''. Some feel that the character [[AdaptationExpansion needed a wider range of emotions to fill an entire movie]], while others felt her grumpiness was ''too'' downplayed and thus [[NonindicativeName removed her one distinguishing personality aspect]].
