** A comic [[https://ffn.nodwick.com/?p=1774 from 2018]] had Shawn finding ways to manufacture toilet paper in a game where the world was in crisis and shortages were common. Come 2020 and there was indeed a wave of trying to hoard toilet paper.

* ComplacentGamingSyndromeComplacentGamingSyndrome: [[http://ffn.nodwick.com/?p=6 Invoked and discussed from the very first strip.]] More specifically...
** Lewis often plays either front-line fighters of some sort or claims a generally unjustified emphasis on Charisma that he can't live up to (or both, when playing paladins in D&D), tries to claim the leadership role (often being overruled or manipulated), and as a result of all this usually causes problems for the party or gets himself eaten.
** Nelson leans strongly on magic-users or other weird powers and effects, such as mad science in games that don't allow magic. He also likes to use the high Intelligence scores such classes require to justify hijacking the game's plot and abusing the mechanics mercilessly.
** Shawn is more of an overall opportunist who doesn't fall into the trope as much as the others, usually staking out whatever niche the others haven't already. In D&D this sometimes leaves him in the rogue spot.
** Frank is always the GameMaster, and is probably the most complacent of all after Lewis since the others can easily predict what he'll do within a genre, and the others can derail a game just by asking he not abuse certain cliches all over again. He still gets one over on them occasionally.

After he lost his job, Lewis downloaded the newest D&D supplements from a pirate site, spent his unemployment check getting copies printed up for everyone, then turned in the assistant manager who ran the copies and was hired to replace that person.
