None of these are YMMV, and KTSOB was disambiguated. Also getting rid of improper indentation + Natter

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: The LighterAndSofter tone clashing with the DarkerAndEdgier half-human, half-orc hasn't brought a whole lot of the audience joy, often due to the [[{{Anvilicious}} allegorical nature]] that tries to get sandwiched in between--even when RuleOfPerception has already been at play for longer periods of time.
** A pretty gratuitous example of this trope for Littlefinger: [[spoiler: one of his hired thugs kicks Arya's direwolf Nymeria and later kills her offscreen]].
** The Company™ will often be instigators of quite a few of these, with the odd PetTheDog moment that fans will state is worth a watch. The in-universe report filed in the wake of [[spoiler:the mission to Vaes Dothrak]] shows just how little regard or respect they have for the "primitive natives", viewing them either as "assets to be acquired" or as "obstacles to be removed". In the report, it's even mentioned that before they settle colonists in Essos, The Company plans to enact a [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything "Final Solution]] [[WouldBeRudeToSayGenocide to the Dothraki Problem"...]]
** Later on, they double down by deciding that once the War Of Five Kings breaks out, [[spoiler:The Company™ can and will take advantage of the chaos of the conflict to secretly purge any noblemen they see as an obstacle to their plans. The list of targets actually included Ned Stark at first, but Fred used his veto power to spare him]].
** [[RuleOfThree Later on]], over on EE-L5, the Company has [[spoiler:King Theoden assassinated, and plants evidence implicating Grima Wormtongue in the murder]].

* IdiotBall: Fred holds this quite a bit at first, but gradually starts to wizen up a bit. Among the Westerosi, Jaime Lannister seems to hold this quite a bit.
* IndecisiveParody: While not BAD by any means, the story suffers a bit because of how much the comedic elements clashes with the serious elements. The story is officially listed as a Parody, but plays most of the usual tropes completely straight for one.
* KickTheDog:
** An almost ''literal'' example of this trope for Littlefinger: [[spoiler: one of his hired thugs kicks Arya's direwolf Nymeria and later kills her offscreen]].
** The Company™ seems to do quite a few of these, as well as a few PetTheDog moments as well. Among crossing the Westerosi, Jaime Lannister seems to hold this quite notoriously [[CrapsackWorld GRIMDARK]] Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire and TabletopGame/WarhammerFantasy settings with a bit.
* IndecisiveParody: While not BAD by any means,
sci-fi SpaceOpera, complete with robot girls and lasers, the story suffers a bit because of how much the writer has also made them more comedic elements clashes with the serious elements. The story is officially listed as a Parody, but plays most of the usual tropes completely straight for one.

injected full of pop culture references.

* LighterAndSofter: in addition to crossing the notoriously [[CrapsackWorld GRIMDARK]] Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire and TabletopGame/WarhammerFantasy settings with a sci-fi SpaceOpera, complete with robot girls and lasers, the writer has also made them more comedic and over-the-top and injected full of pop culture references.
** DarkerAndEdgier: however, the story does tend to veer into this area in places. Most notably in [[spoiler:exploring how exactly does Saruman create the [[HalfHumanHybrid half-human, half-orc]] Uruk-Hai; see {{Squick}} below.]]
* RootingForTheEmpire: The Company™ and its members are arrogant, greedy, ruthless and do a lot of KickTheDog things but most if not all readers still consider them not being villain or at least very dark Anti-Hero (some readers even asked the writer to make them act ''more'' like real evil!). But considering the fact that those who oppose The Company™ are either homicidal or even worse, and given the fact that the Company™ did introduce a lot of positive technological and social progress to the local, it's not hard to see why.

** Is The Company™ truly noble and really wants to help the people of the four planets of the Epsilon Eridani System modernize and improve their lives or just a Greedy, Hypocrite and Lying MegaCorp who only acts friendly to the locals so they can exploit them and steal their resources for their own gain?
** Fred Kovacs. A NiceGuy who really wants to help out but suffers from unfortunate circumstances out of his control or just an Idiot who so full of himself who does things not for others but [[ItsAllAboutMe for himself]] and refuses to accept responsibility when things go bad?

** Fred Kovacs, while not dumb enough to talk that way around the actual nobles, is a good deal less formal in private, like you'd expect a middle-class white collar worker from Earth to be.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: The character of Fred Kovacs was created, as per WordOfGod, as the [[PluckyComicRelief comic relief]] and as a [[PointyHairedBoss parody of some real life business' practices of promoting some people to well above their competency level]]. All the same, some of his immature behavior can rub some readers the wrong way.

* CharacterDerailment: played with. Daenerys is weaker and not quite the strong and determined leader she is in canon. Justified, however, because [[spoiler:The Company™ "rescued" (kidnapped) her from Vaes Dothrak]] before she has the chance to become the "Mother Of Dragons".
** CharacterRerailment: however, [[spoiler:The Company™ is grooming her to be future ruler of Westeros ([[PuppetKing granted, this is mainly to serve their interests]]).]]
