Mandark whipping Number 12. Unlike the show proper, this is the first time he actually hurts anyone. 12 shouts in pain, flinches easily, and in general is just such a broken, pathetic man compared to the boy genius he used to be.be.
** After Action Dexter finishes explaining to his three counterparts what happened to the future and how Mandark came power, he briefly drops the mask of an ActionHero and laments that despite all he has done to help this broken world there is ultimately very little he can actually do. He sounds broken for a moment and like everything is hopeless. But fortunately, the other Dexters tell him they have found the laboratory with tons of equipment, reigniting his hope and realizing with the lab and their combined intelligence they can stop Mandark once and for all.
--->Action Dexter: I did what I could to help, but with the Overlord's robots enforcing terror across the land and very few resources at my disposal, it's been a fight just to survive.

** Number Twelve starts off as a timid, beaten man, and even after his past self's rousing speech, displays confidences issues. Until we get the the mech's building montage, where he is quick, smiling and all signs point to him being in his element. Toped off with the four Dexters sharing some cold rootbeers upon it's completion, and it's not hard to imagine the banter, reminiscing and reassurance from Action Dexter that would have raised his mood even more.

* CrossesTheLineTwice: Number 12 having a PTSD attack at the sound of Mandark's voice? Not funny. Him screaming like a girl when that happens? Hilarious. Oh, and Mandark is still voiced the same way by Eddie Deezen.

* HilariousInHindsight: Dexter is egotistical enough to believe that he saved the future, and willingly travels there to watch himself do it. Creator/GenndyTartakovsky's next, more famous show was about a humble man who actually saves the future after being sent there against his will.

* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: Jeff Bennett's performance as Action Dexter is an incredibly impressive one, as he not only manages to perfectly sound like what an adult Dexter would sound like, down to the accent but he also replicates the intonation and cadence of the younger Dexter flawlessly.

* CriticalDissonance: The movie wasn't all that well received by TV critics. Now, go ask some of the fans what they thought of it. The answer you'll get will likely be pretty different.
