* PositiveDiscrimination: At the Disney theme parks, little girls can be dolled up as one of the princesses in a process that includes getting their hair done, having makeup applied, and dressing up in a color-coded dress appropriate to the princess of their choice. Little boys who want to dress up at the heroic counterparts to these ladies... you know, the non-existent Disney ''princes''... are out of luck, as no male counterpart costumes are made available This is especially ironic in the case of Princess Jasmine (who is available as a costume), as she is from a movie named after the film's '''male''' lead, ''Disney/{{Aladdin}}''. Little boys ''can'' go to the Pirate League and dress up as pirates... but then little girls can get dressed up as pirates as well. One Disney executive admitted that the disparity is "unfair", and that the company is looking into putting prince costumes in the Princess Boutiques. But no one is holding their breath.
*** This disparity was remarked upon by one ten year old boy at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. When informed that he could not be Prince Charming, but could be a pirate, he immediately pointed out that pirates were criminals and bad guys, and that since all Disney would let little boys be was bad guys, it was obvious that Disney hated little boys. The little boy stated this opinion at the top of his lungs, in the middle of one of the busiest tourist days of 2011. Girls are Princesses, boys are criminals. Positive Discrimination at its finest.

** Not even the newest princesses are free! Ariel is bashed for "only wanting to have a man", Mulan is flanderised into a "super perfect feminist woman" and "the only good Disney Princess", Belle is demeaned for "being an abuse victim" and Tiana both wearing a white sparkly gown as well as having learned to cook from her father and not from her mother negates all of her awesomeness.

* DamselScrappy: Snow White seems to be considered this by the Disney company. Her very dated appearance, very different singing voice from the other princesses and lack of ever really doing anything particularly daring in the eyes of modern viewers leads her to be somewhat awkward at fitting in with the others. She almost never appears in any Disney princess songs and when she does, the voice actress isn't exactly... convincing. It was pretty noticeable in the "If You Can Dream" song where every Disney princess had a part in the song, except Snow White, who only got one background slide for a split second, while Cinderella sang title of one of ''her'' songs.
