* SubbingVsDubbing: Of the three shorts that make up ''Anime/DigimonTheMovie'', this one has the biggest conflict over the original and the dub. Those in favor of the sub like that it involves the original Chosen Children, the lack of 90's soundtracks, and believe the script to be well done. Those that like the dub think that since the whole "kidnap the original Digidestined" plot never got a real conclusion, it being cut didn't really matter in the long run. They also find the soundtrack to be NarmCharm, and while the script is full of holes and MoodWhiplash, tying it into the previous movie at least gave an explanation as what happened Kokomon. The biggest sticking point, however, is the music in the Japanese version. Fans of it believe the music to be haunting and beautiful, while those who dislike it say it's boring and grating. For their upcoming Blu-Ray release of the film, Creator/DiscotekMedia not only remastered both the sub and dub, but also produced a brand-new uncut dub with most of the surviving cast, bridging the gap between both sides of the argument... if only partially.

There is no virus in the original. The movie deliberately leaves it vague what happened to Chocomon.

* AssPull: Angewomon and Angemon evolving to their Ultimate forms out of nowhere and releasing the golden Digimentals. It's even worse in the dub; the original version at least tried to explain it away feebly with having Angewomon and Angemon tell Hikari and Takeru to "combine light and hope" in the hopes something will happen, but the dub just has them mention "releasing the golden [=DigiEggs=]" and digivolve to Mega out of absolutely nowhere.

* BizarroEpisode: Even though it's more than a little surreal, the movie has a relatively easy-to-follow storyline...up until it gets to the point where Angewomon and Angemon evolve to their Ultimate forms, at which point everything promptly stops making what little sense it had.
