* VanillaProtagonist: While it's not the first time in the series, one of the biggest criticisms people have had against this show is how flat of a character Yui is. Aside from liking to eat and randomly quoting her grandmother, she has little to no personality traits or interests to flesh her out. It's also one of the reasons fans weren't a fan of the WillTheyOrWontThey subplot with Takumi, as more often than not, they questioned what made Takumi develop feelings for Yui anyway.

* Les Yay: Par for the course for the franchise, but people immediately went in this direction in episode 3 as Cure Precious carries Kokone in her arms. The following episode has Kokone give a passionate speech to Pampam that she wants to be able to eat bread with Yui again, because she makes her feel a warmth in her heart. And then she starts blushing in Episode 5 when Yui calls her by her first name.
** Later, Amane joins in on it, with her using Yui's own catchphrase on Gentlu, and catching Cure Precious.
** And even later, Amane and Kokone end up getting a whole episode which is full of moments that could be interpreted as such.
** Episode 43 shows Secretoru blushing and stumbling over her words once she realizes she's talking to Fuwa Hatsuko, the Genius Taster. In the following episode, when she appears to help the Cures, she's even wearing Hatsuko's coat over her Bundoru Gang uniform.

** When Amane Kasai was introduced, it was clearly obvious to several fans, she was related in some way to Gentlu. After Gentlu uses, in Episode 6, information only Amane had, she was revealed to be both characters. The following episode cements it even further, with her mentioning about the existence of Recipippis, using Ran to steal them, and even thanking her for stealing them.
** Also, the moment that Gentlu was revealed in promotional trailers, people quickly suspected that she was going to be the fourth Cure for the team, with her being revealed to be such in Episode 16.
** Even for the less sensitive fans, Gentlu checks all the boxes for a villainess that is on her path to HeelFaceTurn: about the same age as the main characters, in the main character’s school, has a famous seiyuu.
** When Kome-Kome's human form was revealed, it was more a case of when rather than if the other mascot animals would get human forms, as well as Kome-Kome and/or the other two getting Cure forms. All three have LittleBitBeastly human forms in the movie, and all get henshin forms at the same time.
** Some people had a hunch that was Godatz the whole time, even when a RedHerring was introduced a few episodes prior to the reveal.

** Takumi spends the whole show holding a seemingly unrequited torch for Yui, with only the smallest hints of a MaybeEverAfter and WordOfGod confirming they HookedUpAfterwards by the end of the season. Almost a year after the season ended, his voice actor announced his marriage to Creator/RinaHidaka, who happens to have voiced Laura in the previous season.

Evil Is Sexy TRS; this has become an objective, in-universe trope.

* EvilIsSexy: Many fans consider all three of the Bunduru Gang members (Gentlu, Narcistoru and Secretoru) to be very attractive and sexy. In fact, some even consider Gentlu to be far better looking than Cure Finale.

* SoOkayItsAverage: This is the general consensus toward this show. while the designs and characters were praised, it was also criticized for problems like its overuse of Delicious Fields, abundance of fillers and underdeveloped plot points and characters, especially the lead Cure.

** Spiritoru. A SixthRanger for the villains introduced in episode 25, he plays an active role until episode 27, a mere two episodes after his debut where he gets DemotedToExtra until the final arc of the show. The same can be said about the Mini Spiritorus he creates, which show up in the EvolvingCredits and seem to be another obstacle for the Cures to overcome, only for them to also do nearly nothing until the show's endgame.
** Secretoru. She had a relatively weak backstory which was only partially revealed, to the point where many people considered her apex was interacting with Fuwa Hatsuko (which doubled as a ShipTease) after her final defeat.
** Godatz is considered to have a lot of wasted potential as a villain. The only real backstory for him is [[spoiler:the fact he (Fennel) was envious his master Ginger didn't choose him as a successor, driving him into stealing the Recipe-bon and framing Cinnamon for it]]. With the season building up Godatz as a feline-themed villain with his lair and hologram being plastered with cat-like elements, his initial form has none of that, instead looking like a generic dark knight (his OneWingedAngel form however has catlike elements). There's also no explanation on how he formed the Bunduru Gang, encountered his subordinates (Secretoru and Narcistoru) and corrupted into Gentlu.

Futari wa through Yes did have separate consecutive arcs for each villain.

** Unlike nearly every other season of Pretty Cure, the villains never rotate between episodes until they're taken out of the action (whether by performing a HeelFaceTurn or by being PutOnAPrisonBus), meaning that there are long stretches of episodes where the same one will always come out to confront the Cures each and every time, making them seem more repetitive than they otherwise would be. The repetitive issue doesn't help with the fact every single one of their battles took place in the equally repetitive Delicious Fields, a desert-like terrain (only two episodes prior to the DarkestHour had this exception, and they were both exclusive to Secretoru).

* BetterOnDVD: Delicious Party is without a doubt the slowest paced Pretty Cure season thus far (for reference, it took seven episodes for the main trio to form compared to the 3-4, sometimes 5, episodes it usually takes for earlier seasons), not helped by the infamous Toei Hack that caused production to be halted by nearly a month. Having the complete series viewable on Crunchyroll helps mitigate the pacing issues that plagues this season.

* ContestedSequel: Delicious Party is generally a very divisive season to discuss online, especially compared with other seasons aired around its time (especially the two seasons it's sandwiched between). Some detractors disliked the fact that the "rotating villain" format was replaced with a "one villain attacks" (along with an even more divisive villain lineup), the "Delicious Fields" that were present in almost every single episode making most battles feel repetitive. On the other hand, fans felt like battles had better choreography to compensate and also felt like Kokone, Kome-Kome, and Amane had a lot of better focus and were generally the strong parts of the season. Both sides generally agree that some characters, especially Yui (who happens to be the main character), Takumi, and Rosemary could've had more focus in general.
