* TheOtherDarrin: Since the death of Mel Blanc, other actors have gotten the chance to lend their voice to the darn-fool duck, including Creator/JeffBergman, Creator/GregBurson, Creator/DeeBradleyBaker, Creator/JeffBennett, Creator/EricBauza, and most notably, Creator/JoeAlaskey.

''WesternAnimation/BugsBunny'' and never did anything wrong to begin with.

** An example is in ''WesternAnimation/DuckAmuck'', where he is set up as the bad guy for being a bit snappy, but he was tormented repeatedly by none other than ''WesternAnimation/BugsBunny'' and never did anything wrong to begin with.

* FandomRivalry: Unlike WesternAnimation/BugsBunny and [[WesternAnimation/ClassicDisneyShorts Mickey Mouse]], who despite being from rival companies are shown to actually get along in ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'', Daffy doesn't get along with DonaldDuck at all.

** Bob Clampett, often considered MyRealDaddy for the CrazyAwesome Daffy, began moving away from that characterization in his last years at the studio, making him a DirtyCoward and ButtMonkey in "Draftee Daffy."

* CrazyAwesome: His no-holds-barred insanity got him noticed, defeated his foes and won him his fans. As he gradually evolved into a more deliberate, motivated character, he began to fail more and more. ''WesternAnimation/TheLooneyTunesShow'' [[DeconstructedTrope deconstructs]] this trope by bringing back his insanity, but forcing him to suffer more realistic consequences for it (he can't hold down a job, he gets thrown in prison for contempt of court, etc.), ensuring that he remains a StrawLoser. Nonetheless, his craziness has made him [[UnpopularPopularCharacter one of the most popular characters]] among fans of the show.

* CharacterRerailment: Some recent ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' revivals have been twisting in and out with the original interpretations of Daffy (in ''Film/SpaceJam'' and ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'' in particular, [[CompositeCharacter while still maintaining a lot of wit from]] Creator/ChuckJones' [[CompositeCharacter era, he is back to his goofy prankster persona]]). At the very least he's been dialed back for the better since his more ruthless De Patie Freleng period.
** Daffy's original screwball personality returns in full force from ''WesternAnimation/WabbitALooneyTunesProduction'' onward.

"See Ya Later Gladiator" in particular, the last Daffy Duck ''and'' Speedy Gonzales cartoon, is widely considered to be the nadir of not only the Daffy and Speedy era, but the ''Looney Tunes'' theatrical era as a whole, due to the aforementioned problems along with an uncharacteristic plot, weak/nonexistent gags, and Daffy's jerkass tendencies being [[UpToEleven ramped up even further]] as the shorts that came before tried to tone down these tendencies ("Skyscraper Caper", which was the cartoon before, had Daffy in a completely non-antagonistic role).

* TheyWastedaPerfectlyGoodPlot: The Creator/RichMoore-directed "Attack of the Drones". A short about Daffy cloning himself could've been hilarious, but alas, the duplicate robots that Daffy creates act more like [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} Bender]] than anything. In addition, the short is needlessly violent and dark - an alien bites an astronaut in half, three of Daffy's robots beat up a sentient ATM, and Daffy is at one point impaled by a lightsaber.

** "Film/YouOughtToBeInPictures" (1940) has Daffy as a fame-hungry {{Jerkass}} trying to displace Porky as the flagship star of the studio, much as he would later do with Bugs Bunny
