* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: While the light novel version is wildly popular, the manga adaptation is shunned. The primary complaint is that whoever took up writing the manga has changed so much of the story, particularly Asuta's behavior and personality, that the mangaka has killed any and all enjoyment from reading it.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: The author tries to paint Darum Wu as a TroubledSympatheticBigot who is pitied by Asuta, but the problem with that is that he's also a spiteful douche who actively tries to hurt people's feelings every time he's onscreen [[spoiler:and threatens to kill Asuta because the former won't join him in his misogyny]]. Also, even by the standards of his home culture, "I want to insult her because she rejected me" isn't really acceptable behaviour.
