* FridgeBrilliance: Kiera (and most future characters, for that matter) doesn't [[CanadianAccents demonstrate Canadian raising]] very much, despite living in Vancouver. (Compare with, say, Alec, as he constantly talks [[FunetikAksent aboat]] his experimental frequencies.) Since her cover in the present-day is as a cop from Portland, Oregon, this more neutral accent might help back her up (because if any Canadian raising had slipped ''oat'' while talking to Carlos or his boss, the whole game would have been up.)
** Or, it might simply be the unfortunate result of the accent disappearing within the next 65 years.
** Kiera hasn't heard of Franchise/{{Batman}}! Considering we're talking about a character who's corporate identity is basically a smokescreen for his vigilante activities, which he advertises by shining a giant signal in the sky, do you really think the [[OppressiveStatesOfAmerica vaguely]] [[BigBrotherIsWatching fascistic]] North American Union would permit such a comic to be published? Batman is probably [[BannedInChina banned]] for being "politically subversive".

* TheChrisCarterEffect: As the second series has progressed and more characters are introduced or revealed to have their own agenda, it's 50/50 whether week to week things are being thrown at the wall and seeing what sticks or if there's a masterplan and the series is falling into this or GambitPileup.
* SingleIssueWonk: Kiera when it comes to time travel back to 2077. Even when Young Alec tries to reason with her that the 2077 she goes back to may not resemble the world she remembers she still insists on hanging onto the TimeyWimeyBall.

* ManipulativeBastard: Though it certainly helps that Future!Alec knows both his own past and future, as well as that of others, the man is very good at getting anyone to do what he wants.
* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: The more we see of the future the more apparent it becomes that Kiera was a tool of the evil overlord. After the events of "Seconds" and "Second Wave" we're getting quickly to the point where Kiera can only be considered a "good" guy because the show is centred around her.
* TelevisionGeography: While the show makes some effort to refer to real parts of the Lower Mainland, there's no good reason for an oil truck being driven around Stanley Park. Considering how narrow the roads are there, it's about the most impractical thing to do. Also, sharp-eyed people will notice parts of the GVRD stand in for other parts of the GVRD.

* SympatheticPOV: The more we see of the future the more clear it is that despite being a good person herself Kiera is working for the evil overlord.

* LesYay / BiTheWay: Garza for Kiera in a kind of weird one-sided way. Along the way she also throws a smooch at Fonnegra. Then again, she likes trolling Kiera, who seems a bit straitlaced in the realm of sex.

* JerkassBall: Arguably, Carlos in Second Truths, in order to motivate Kiera to [[spoiler:finally tell him the truth about everything]].

* IdiotBall: Given that Kellog ''has'' actually had decent information for Kiera on more than one occasion and he seems genuinely uninterested in Liber8's revolutionary agenda (and thus somewhat interested in her continued existence to help keep the rest of Liber8's shock troops from finding him and blowing him away), it's surprising how often she blows him off when he's trying to reach her with critical, time-sensitive info.
