* Another contender would be [[ActualPacifist William]]. While being meant to be the OnlySaneMan and the TokenGoodTeammate for his two brothers, his religiously fueled pacifism comes at the best of times across as strongly naive and at worst being downright stupid and self-defeating, considering how dangerous and hostile the wild west is towards everyone, even if you're not asking for trouble. While he's often got a point like for example about how his brothers should try to make a living with honest work and was actually pretty spot on about Juarez' and Marisa's deceitfulness from the very beginning, his complete refusal to resort to violence even in genuine self-defense or to the defense of others will make you groan in frustration more than once, not being helped by his for modern standards rather misogynistic way he perceives Marisa (at first). His [[spoiler: death at Ray's hand as a heroic sacrifice only mitigates this somewhat, showing that he was at least practicing what he preached]], though until then you might be forgiven to simply consider him TheLoad and a sanctimonious and self-righteous airhead, due to how ineffectual and inconsequential his role is until halfway through the story.
