* MemeticMutation: Variations on the title. For example, a ''Dilbert'' collection was called ''Bring Me the Head of Willy the Mailboy'', while on ''Radio/ImSorryIHaventAClue'' Graeme uses the title practically every time they have to come up with thematic titles (e.g. if the theme is food, "BRING ME THE FRIED BREAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA!")

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: There are many strange scenes that seemingly doesn't add anything to the film. Among them is a scene where two Mexican hitmen swerve their car through a puddle of mud with trademark Peckinpah slo-mo, and Benny pouring booze on his dick after a night of making love to Elita. At the time, critics used these scenes to dismiss the film as the work of an insane drugged out idiot. Nowadays they are more likely to be seen as self parody.

* VindicatedByHistory: Initially reviled for its dark tone, extreme violence and inaccessible story, the film has since become regarded as one of Peckinpah's best.
