* AmbiguousDisorder: Pat Quid is obsessive about his interests, and can ramble on about liquorice and his guitar collection for quite a while. He also feels very guilty for accidentally hitting a foal with his car, to the point that over thirty years later even talking about it makes him almost cry. He is also very pedantic and obsessed with the band all getting the same treatment (such as insisting that everyone have the same number of photos in the musical programme, and taking a trundle wheel with him to check every member of the band had the same size hotel room), much more so than the others. Pat makes himself feel sick when discussing the overwhelming smells and crowds at festivals, and also gives a very blunt/LiteralMinded answer when asked about the worst thing that might happen at a festival - "Probably murder."

** Brian breaking down when he learns about Pat's dementia. Also his concern later in the episode when Pat's memory problems are starting to become more apparent. It shows that he really does care about his friend, despite how much they argue.

* {{Defictionalization}}:
** Sort of. Pat Quid's "Fishing with Rock Stars" TV show seams to have morphed in "Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing", featuring Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse (AKA Pat Quid).

*HeartwarmingMoments:
** At the end of series 2 episode 3, John reveals that the rest of Thotch paid off Brian's debt for him.
** Brian breaking down when he learns about Pat's dementia. Also his concern later in the episode when Pat's memory problems are starting to become more apparent. It shows that he really does care about his friend, despite how much they argue.
** Brian's determination to be a good father this time around is rather sweet.
** Brian's father finally being proud of him.
*HoYay:
** The members of Thotch can sometimes end up acting homoerotic towards each other and John, particularly when they bicker LikeAnOldMarriedCouple.
** The pervy French singer in series 2 episode 3 tells the pianist that he 'would very much like to ferk' him.
*{{Tearjerker}}: The scene in which Pat starts to get upset about accidentally killing a foal is very tearjerking (even Rhys's audible whisper of 'Zoom in, I think he's going to cry.' doesn't make the situation any less sad), especially when you can see him blinking back tears and hear his voice starting to tremble.
