** On the more meta side, a lot of fans like to put the movie's setting in the same continuity as the ''VideoGame/AceAttorney'' series, sometimes jokingly and sometimes not. Besides the obvious {{Americasia}} similarities, both also involve alternate histories where Japanese Americans weren't persecuted during and after UsefulNotes/WorldWarII in America.

** Discussed in-universe in the manga adaptation where Tadashi was sucked into a portal during a failed attempt to bring Abigail back. It's theorised that he could still be alive in another dimension.

* ImprovedSecondAttempt: The main villain [[spoiler: Professor Callaghan]] can seen as an attempt to fix some complaints fans had with [[spoiler: Hans]] , the TwistVillain of ''WesternAnimation/{{Frozen}}'', namely that that TheReveal came too late in the film for them to make as much of an impact as previous villains, their motivations and backstory received very little focus, and they were pretty much a PlotIrrelevantVillain in terms of the larger story. By contrast [[spoiler: Callaghan]] is firmly the BigBad with his motivations to [[spoiler: avenge the death of his daughter and destroy Krei]] getting fully fleshed out and they have a lot more screen time to establish their villain cred before and after TheReveal of their identity.

Rewatching Frozen I realized that Y seems designed to fix issues people had with H

** Hiro and Baymax's teammates don't really get much development and have rather one-note personalities, but the film would probably go in a very different direction without their inclusion, [[spoiler:especially since they were able to stop Baymax from killing Yokai]]. However, they get more development in TheSeries.

This isn't the same as the previous Captain Obvious Reveal entry: it's "it's obvious Krei ISN'T Yokai" instead of "it's obvious Callaghan IS Yokai"

Added DiffLines:

* CaptainObviousReveal: [[spoiler:The Yokai isn't Krei. The problem is the film throws so many "clues" towards Krei being the villain throughout that by the time Fred proclaims that the Yokai has to be Krei, it's basically confirmed to the audience that the Yokai must be someone else, simply because the story tries so hard to convince the audience that [[RedHerring the misdirection]] becomes incredibly telegraphed (it doesn't help that the [[WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph two]] [[WesternAnimation/Frozen2013 prior]] Disney films also had twist villains). Sure enough, the Yokai is actually Callaghan, who faked his death as part of a revenge plot ''against'' Krei.]]
