* TheScrappy: Duelists tend to end up as this. Thanks to a certain [[LightNovel/SwordArtOnline sword wielding main character]] in an {{Anime}}, it's a very popular class despite not being the easiest to use. The game also suggests an Evasion build for them that sacrifices actual Defense and HP, but problems come when they enter dungeons. Bosses tend to cast their AreaOfEffect on the Tank, which so happens to be right beside the melee-DPS Duelist. These skills also have a much higher Accuracy than normal, which means Evasion Duelists can and will get [[OneHitKill OHKO'd]] if they don't manually dodge. [[YetAnotherStupidDeath Which most don't.]] As a result, "Kirito" has started to become a derogatory term for Duelists who don't know what they're doing.

* CriticalResearchFailure: In the Taiwan server, Alessa is named Pegasus. This does not work out well, since Pegasus has wings (at least), while Alessa has no wings at all.
** Slightly averted when Alessa's armor gains a pair of wings upon 3rd evolution. However, she does not fly with them, as they are mostly decorative

** It's later revealed that [[spoiler: both of them were telling the truth, or were at least sincere in their belief. At the final battle against Reinhardt, a mirror of the dream at the start of the story, Belenus uses the legendary medicine to revive everyone Reinhardt killed, including Andre, Victoria, Anya, and the PlayerCharacter. Reinhardt's wife Luciana appears as an angel and convinces him to give up, and they both disappear; she was apparently also the one who gave the PlayerCharacter the prophetic dream. Belenus himself sacrifices his remaining life to act as a BarrierMaiden and seal off the hellrift that Reinhardt had opened. So, Reinhardt was telling the truth about Belenus' unwillingness to use the cure for Luciana, but Belenus was equally sincere in his determination to only use the cure in the most dire of situations. Both were willing to die for their beliefs.]]

** The Lv55 content update brings Helakar. Oh, he's casting an AreaOfEffect spell with red lines? All the DPS dodge it... then they die anyway. As it turns out, if even one player gets caught in that attack, the damage is ''reflected to all players''. Have fun asking your Tank in random parties to avoid the red line for the sake of the entire party, if he thinks he doesn't need to.

One reflect will knock off around half a player's health, and two or more at the same time can easily cause a TotalPartyKill.
