* BadassDecay: Oliver, Thea, and John Diggle engage in a dramatic fight with Anarky and can't beat him, which is weird because Thea took him on one-on-one and kicked his ass.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: The family of HIVE goons Team Arrow interrogate. They insist that they were not brainwashed by Darhk and earnestly agree with him, alluding to events in Starling City over the past couple of seasons as why life is so awful. But since Darhk's plan is still "Nuke the planet and rebuild" they just come off as shallow and petty. One might dismiss their motivations as the typical selfish beliefs of henchmen from a supervillain organization, but Oliver feels sympathetic towards them, and wonders if Darhk has a point, forgetting that the most recent terrible things to happen to Starling City are almost entirely Darhk's fault.

The villain who says this was in the middle of being powered by the an idol and countless dead souls. in this instance, real life science has no bearing on what is or isn't real in a fictional world.

* CriticalResearchFailure: Damien claims that the Flood was real. Currently there is absolutely no scientific research that backs the theory of a global flood.

** Though it is justified a bit when they state they can't focus on that now and need to stop all of the other nukes from going off.

** Not just Felicity, no one really takes a nuke going off in a US city seriously. Donna even says a nuke going off isn't the end of the world, [[MutuallyAssuredDestruction which would not be a unreasonable thing to consider]].

* AngstWhatAngst: The climax of the previous episode seemed to hint that Felicity could enter a state of despair at essentially sacrificing tens of thousands in Havenrock in order to save millions in Monument Point...but that never happens.
