*''WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}}'': At first, King Andrias Leviathan was a LoveToHate villain due to him [[spoiler: betraying Anne and her friends, almost crushes Polly, destroying Frobo, dropping Sprig to his near death, and with the cherry on top stabbing Marcy in the back both literally and metaphorically, as well as allowing the Core to possess her. After that, fans only saw him as a complete monster with no redeeming qualities and wanted nothing more than to see him get what's coming to him. "The Core and the King" shows us his past and what's drives him to his path of villainy. He was once a sweet natured prince who had 2 good friends whom he loved spending time with. At least until his frog friend Leif stole the music box after having a terrifying vision, causing his father Aldrich to deem him as failure and his only way to redeem himself is to wait for the music box to return. Andrias would spend 1,000 years of self loathing in his failure and desperation to make his father proud, and shutting himself off from everyone else, while letting his father and the Core to continue gaslighting him. It also becomes clear that he doesn't actually enjoy hurting those who get in his way, as he truly did form a genuine bond with Marcy when the young girl showed more kindness and cheer towards him than anyone has in 1,000 years. Which was enough for him to go out of his way to convince the Core to keep her alive rather than straight up kill her. While he continues to keep his feelings buried, Andrias shows deep regret for hurting the first real friend he's had in a millennium. As soon and Sprig reads Leif's final letter to him, Andrias has a massive MyGodWhatHaveIDone realization and openly breaks down crying, and when the Core sees this, they only continues to force him to keep fighting, making it hard to relish in his sadness. After the Core is defeated, Andrias willingly lowers his defense and let's Anne defeat him to end his reign of terror, losing his left arm, left leg, the tip of his tail, and a chunk of his tummy. As everyone celebrates Anne's victory, Andrias begs Anne to save Marcy, without a care about his own state and injuries. By this time, he finally realized that getting his father's approval isn't worth hurting Marcy; a girl who actually cares about him, and finally pulls a HeelFaceTurn against his father to help Marcy and her friends to keep the Moon possessed Core from crashing into Amphibia, and later begans atonement for his crimes as a gardener. Even so, the damage he's done has been set, and everyone on Earth and Amphibia will never forgive him for his actions, except for surprisingly Marcy Wu herself, as she gave a brief but genuine goodbye to her friend before leaving Amphibia for good and Andrias tells her to take care of herself.]]
