* Moskowien had population transfer mechanics used to separate German settlers and native Russians in order to prevent a race war that were removed because they were seen as an endorsement of ethnic cleansing.
* The release of the ''Cutting Room Floor'' update in November of 2020 also coincided with one of the developers [[https://old.reddit.com/r/TNOmod/comments/jyjvua/behold_a_compilation_of_every_russian_leader/ making a post on the subreddit]] that gives some insight on a few scrapped Russian warlords:
** First up is [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrey_Dikiy Andrey Dikiy]], who was originally [[https://old.reddit.com/r/TNOmod/comments/jyjvua/behold_a_compilation_of_every_russian_leader/gd4hcbw/ Komi's Burgundian System adherent]] before the devs replaced him with Taboritsky. According to the developer that made the post, Dikiy in his route "would basically build an SS LARP brigade called the Sturmoviks". In the final release, he is merely one of Taboritsky's ministers.
** Related to the above point, the earliest idea for Komi (then called Syktyvkar) was them being a {{Commie Nazi|s}} or "[=NaziBol=]" state under a blackwashed local Hero of the Soviet Union, just like what happened with Andreas Maier/Alexander Medvedev of the Aryan Brotherhood before that faction got actual Russian Neo-Nazis for leaders. The concept of a {{Commie Nazi|s}} republic in Komi survives only through Serov and his "Ordosocialism" in the final release.

** The oddest one of the bunch however are portraits of Mitchell [=WerBell=] III in royal attire, with his first portrait even having him wearing a Laurel wreath like a Roman Emperor. Interestingly, an alternate royal portrait exists for his used portrait that came with the ''Cutting Room Floor'' update, hinting that this concept was scrapped rather late in development.

* At one point, the developers had an internal canon for a second start date in 1972. This plan has since been scrapped from the mod but would have included:
** Hitler choosing Heydrich as his successor, but Bormann winning the German Civil War, eventually heading Germany to downfall.
** [=McGovern=] being elected as the 1972 U.S. President.
** Batov's Ural Military District unites Western Siberia and is peacefully annexed into the [=WRRF=]. In contrast, Magadan (who united the Far East) fights a war against Pokryshkin's Central Siberian Federation, with the latter emerging victorious.
** Russia uniting under Georgy Zhukov's West Russian Revolutionary Front after a final battle with the Siberian Federation, becoming a rising power in her own right once again in the 70s. After Zhukov's death in 1974, he was to be succeeded by Sergey Akhromeyev. During the second West Russian War, the resurgent Soviet Union would only manage to reclaim part of their lost territory up to Moscow before the OFN calls a ceasefire.
** The Great Asian War ending in China's victory and Japan losing its status as a superpower.
** The National Progressive Party in the United States never managing to win any Presidential elections. By the 1980s, the USA would be a de facto one party state.
** The English Civil War ending with HMMLR losing to the collaborators and Margaret Thatcher becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
** Italy successfully undergoing its democratization through Ciano’s reforms.
** The South African War ending in the pro-OFN leaning ceasefire.
