Announced in 2014 in lieu with the brief revival of the [[ComicBook/ThePowerpuffGirls series comic book line]]. This version is noticeable in that series creator, Creator/CraigMcCracken, is not involved this time due to working at Disney on ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder'', as well as not having the original voice actresses (Cathy Cavadini, Creator/TaraStrong and Creator/ElizabethDaily) to return to voice the girls roles despite a good number of the original cast retaining their roles.

* BigBadEnsemble: So far, season one has [[EvilGenius Mojo Jojo]], [[KnightOfCerebus Silico]], and [[SatanicArchetype HIM]]. Mojo Jojo remains the titular heroines' ArchEnemy, Silico ushered in a case of CerebusSyndrome with a solid, menacing first appearance, and HIM is the puppet master behind the plots of several episodes.

* AdoredbytheNetwork: Before the series even premiered the series was extremely hyped up by Cartoon Network, announcing toy lines a year prior, releasing many previews, a month before it premiered, holding two special screenings at film festivals, and airing two weeks of new episodes. The series continued to air ever day for a few months after it premiered, until September 2016, when it was shafted just to weekends, due to low ratings and disappointment from fans.

** Professor Utonium now sounds a good deal older than the original series, which can be chalked up to his actor, Tom Kane, getting older.

* WhatTheHellHero: After hearing Silico's backstory and why he's out to destroy them, the Girls callously dismiss his grief and don't own up to what they did. Even if it was an accident, an apology could have saved them a lot of trouble, but Buttercup instead calls Silico messed up, which will fuel his hate even further.

* BigBadEnsemble: So far, [[ArchEnemy Mojo Jojo]] and [[KnightOfCerebus Silico]] are the biggest threats, but neither are aligned with one another.
