* VocalEvolution: Multiple examples:
** Professor Utonium now sounds a good deal older than the original series, which can be chalked up to his actor, Tom Kane, getting older.
** The Narrator also sounds a good deal different, since Tom Kenny, like Tom Kane, has gotten older. His Mayor voice, though, sounds remarkably the same.

** Buttercup's BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind in "Man Up" is done against photographic backgrounds.

* TheBGrade: In "Painbow", Blossom becomes upset that her diorama got an A+... because the teacher gave ''everyone'' an A+ due to being hypnotized by the Allegro's rainbow, and she felt that she got the grade without earning it.

* DefeatMeansFriendship: The Derby-Tants in "Princess Buttercup" at first were paid by Princess Morbucks to keep Buttercup from helping her sisters. When she finds out, Buttercup beats them up and goes to her sisters. Later, the Derby-Tants help the girls beat Morbucks because by beating them they have earned their respect.

That said there are a few differences from the previous show; along with the old RoguesGallery, a few new villains are showcased. The girls now go to an elementary school rather than kindergarten (which wound up destroyed due to a mishap at show and tell), the old telephone is replaced by a cell phone (modern age and all) and the girls seems to have taken more of a interest in things such as boy bands and roller derbies.
