!!Tropes Used In This Short:
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Mr. Nobody looks like a stick figure, but someone forgot to draw a head.
* CheatingWithTheMilkman: Mr. Nobody mentions in his speech a scenario where someone's wife runs off with a milkman.
-->Should you come home early dawn,
-->See a new milkman is on:
-->Who cares if your wife is gone?... Mr. Nobody!
* ChangingClothesIsAFreeAction: While impersonating Al Smith while wearing a matching suit, Betty obscures herself by stretching the brim of her hat and in the span of a second, transforms back into her normal appearance with her normal black dress. Even her hat shifts from a bowler back to a top hat.
* DogsLoveFireHydrants: Under Betty's administration, dogs would get a gated wall around fire hydrants so they can get some privacy.
* DrivingUpAWall: Under Betty's administration, rather then you go to the trolleys, trolleys would come to you by driving up the side of the building and to your window. How it does this is never explained.
* ElectionDayEpisode: The whole premise is Betty Boop running for U.S. President.
* EverythingTalks: A water pitcher near Mr. Nobody gets thirsty, pours it’s own contents into a cup and drinks it.
* FantasticFireworks: When Betty wins the election, fireworks go off in the night sky, including some that form the image her head.
* FlowersOfFemininity: One of Betty's plans for becoming president is to decorate the White House with a giant garland of flowers, as well as large bows.
* HatOfAuthority: Betty's wears a top hat throughout the short, though she still wears her LittleBlackDress with it.
* NarrativeShapeshifting: Betty transforms into the likeness of President UsefulNotes/HerbertHoover and New York governor Al Smith during her speech. Even her voice dramatically changes.
* ReformedCriminal: A criminal being lead to an electric chair looked like he was on DeathRow, but the chair instead releases a bunch of mechanical arms that gives him a makeover, changing him from a [[EvilMakesYouUgly criminal meathead]], into a clean and reformed (if not sissy looking) man.
* RubeGoldbergDevice: A sleeping weatherman has such a device that starts with rainwater entering through a pipe and ends with a glove punching him awake.
* ShakingTheRump: Betty does this during her Congress speech with the Donkeys and Elephants.
* SiblingsWanted: One confusing lyric of Betty's speech/song was:
-->Now, if you have a sister
-->And want a brother too
-->Tell Ma and Pa to vote for me
-->I'll see what I can do
* WalletMoths: While singing "Some are poor you know" Betty turns pockets on the side of her dress inside-out for visualization. This is about the only time her LittleBlackDress is shown to have pockets.
* WilyWalrus: One is shown marching in the parade and repeatedly banging a drum that releases fish into his mouth.
