Both physically (except for Meme, who has a massive chin, and Grandma 2, who is an immortal old lady) and in attitude (they don't physically abuse eachother and act rather normally). However, they're quite obsessed with food, and with the all-in-one food processor known as Magic Bullet or Bullet Express. They tend to cook and eat massive amount of food, more than should ever be necessary. Joel also states they're swingers (as in, people who participate in orgies) though this is more of an InformedAttribute since they're never shown having sex. The entire mood of the household takes a dark turn once [[FatBastard Ralph]] starts going on a murderous rampage.
