It follows a cat named May, who after a heated argument with her mother runs outside of her home and finds herself having to make a deal with [[PungeonMaster Imp]] because she was apparently struck by lightning and thus killed. Supposedly what's happening is that she is tasked with living the days of twelve diffrent cats and dogs for a day each, and to an extent improving them.

* AnthologySeries: While Twelve distinctly connects it's stories through its framework of May, Origins is more in line with this. The main storyline is about May twelve years after her time as a guardian angel, and twelve of the planned chapters focus on each of the vessels. As of writing this, the series has covered the stories of Ivy, Heather, Thistle, Ebony, and Rose.

* GoodParents: Ebony is a kind and caring dude to his daughter, Daisy. May latches on to their relationship pretty quickly.

* Transgender: Thistle started out as a transgender tom, but later switches their identity to being Nonbinary.

* AmbiguousEnding: [[spoiler:Chapter II on Reed's front. He runs off into the road at the end of the episode, but it's never stated where he'll go.]]

* PungeonMaster: Imp, over here, is the ''master'' of bad puns. It very easily gets on May's nerves.

* DealWithTheDevil: Basically what the deal at the beginning of the show felt like.

** Of course, Rue is also this type of parent.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: In Chapter IV, Thistle and Zinnia start a gang whose main purpose is to combat oppression. However, their methods send them down a path that Thistle didn't like, which of course led to the fight with Zinnia in episode 4 of Twelve.

* CloudCuckoolander: Willow, as previously stated, is a young ditz who WordOfGod has confirmed to have some form of autism.

* SadisticChoice: In the finale, [[spoiler:Imp gives may a choice after the end of the days: either she comes back to life and everyrhing she did for the vessels is completely negated, or she stays dead and everything she did for them would stick.]] [[spoiler:It turns out to be a SecretTestOfCharacter and BOTH positive scenarios happen.]]

* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: Mallow and Ginger are both [[spoiler:Complete dorks who ''both'' had the idea to attempt to be the formal type to impress each other.]]

** Fennel is a blind cat who has a crush on Cosmo, and the way he tries to present this is pretty funny. [[spoiler:He even covered his mouth when his confession to cosmo slipped out]].
** Lupine is just all over the place. He is a child, after all.
** Mallow's main problem is that he's ''actively trying to hide this'' from his girlfriend, Ginger, who acts all formal to try to impress HIM. [[spoiler: Turns out, she is this type as well.]]
** Willow is a mentally disabled kitten who has no way to actually communicate, as he's mute and he doesn't have forelegs. His main goal is simply to find a friend.

* AbusiveParents: Reed's father forces his son to hunt, and will not take no for an answer, to the point of him hitting him when they argue early on. [[spoiler:The influence on Reed made him grow up to be a bitter, attention-seeking cat who wound up abusing his roommate later on.]]

* CloudCuckoolander: Willow, as previously stated, is a young ditz who seems to be on the spectrum.

* FlatEarthAtheist: Downplayed. Thistle mentions in a heated argument with his father that he doesn't believe in god. And while there are no gods in a traditional sense, the universe was previously established to contain reapers who decide the individual's eternal fate based on their memories, and keepers, at least one of which is worshiped as a goddess, all of which are rarely seen by living creatures.

* TheWoobie: Cypress. He was abandoned by his humans and sent into a pound before he was adopted by an old man with an old dog named Cinder, whom he looks up to. Unfortunately, he's sent back after the old man dies. Cinder is put down shortly afterward, making Cypress depressed from the sudden onslaught of grief.
