* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Kazuya's "first steps" are him doing ''Korean Wavedashing'', an advanced technique used by high-level Tekken players. Neither Kazumi or Heihachi see anything wrong with this, if anything Heihachi is ''impressed'' and considers it proof that Kazuya has "strong fighters legs".

Baby Kazuya Mishima is taking his first steps (in the form of Korean Backdashing). This is enough for his father, Heihachi, decides to test his potential with an old-time Mishima family tradition - throwing the newborn baby off a cliff. Even though Kazuya survives, climbs back up and Heihachi is ''incredibly proud'', Kazuya still sports a grudge that he carries to the present day, seeking revenge...

----
!!This short animation provides examples of:
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Downplayed. ''Heihachi of all people'' is a much more doting and proud father, unlike in canon, where he ''hates'' Kazuya as much as his son hates him. Still downplayed, however, considering he ''still'' throws Kazuya off a cliff, is only mildly disappointed when the baby ''doesn't immediately come back'', and ''threw his own father off a cliff'' just to get back at him.
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: Kazuya's childhood in a nutshell, particularly the "get thrown off a cliff by your dad" thing. Apparently that in particular is a ''family tradition'', unlike in canon where Heihachi throwing Kazuya off a cliff was actually to test if he had inherited the Devil Gene from his mother or not.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Lampshaded by Heihachi, who is ''proud'' when Kazuya throws him off a cliff at the end, much like Heihachi did to his own father.
* LittleNo: When Kazuya comments that some of the competitors Heihachi has lined up as "some of the strongest fighters in the world" look like "runoff from the local zoo", Heihachi's denial is ''very sheepish''.
* ShoutOut: The scream Heihachi does when he's thrown off a cliff by Kazuya is the infamous "I'M SO GAAAAAYYYYY!" Jerek scream from VideoGame/MortalKombat4.
* SoProudOfYou: From Heihachi to Kazuya. Yes, ''Heihachi'', who has a mutual hatred of his son in canon, is only ''mildly'' antagonistic towards him and ''proud'' of his son following in his footsteps.
