On the -booru {{Imageboards}}, there is an an artist who goes under the tag Ao_Usagi. Most of Ao Usagi's artwork, ranging from "safe for work" to explicit, enters hard MindScrew territory. He also happens to make Franchise/TouhouProject comics which are equally surreal.

** The spinning Nitori head in episode 6 was provided by Castlepokemetroid.
* OverdrawnAtTheBloodBank: In Episode 7, Satori's {{Nosebleed}} floods the entire Hakurei Shrine.

* ShoutOut:
** The intro sequence is a near-remake of the Series/TimAndEricAwesomeShowGreatJob opening, only using the ZUN-pet instead of a saxophone and excluding the exploding face part. For Episode 4 on, the ending theme recreates their ending theme, only using the synth of "Capital City Of Flowers In The Sky".
** In Episode 0, Reimu and Marisa are married by [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Kotomine]].
** A number of episode use the "Meanwhile" and "Back In Town" from VideoGame/TheTownWithNoName.
** Episode 2 has Nazrin breaking into an homage to "Sit On You" from Series/TimAndEricAwesomeShowGreatJob.
** Episode 3 has an EyeCatch from ''Manga/AzumangaDaioh'', a random skit from ''Manga/KOn'', and [[Manga/LoveHina Naru]] providing examples of {{Tsundere}} behavior. There's also this quote...
--> '''Reimu''': Alright. I spent hours researching on Website/TVTropes how a tsundere acts, and Marisa should be over any second now...
** At the end of Episode 5, Reimu and Marisa sing "Relax, Take It Easy" by {{Music/Mika}}.

* WhatTheHellIsThatAccent: Maxamillion Jazzhands' accent falls somewhere between a SouthernGentlemen and a [[UsefulNotes/BritishAccents British accent]].
* WordOfGod: Spaztique will answer any question regarding the episodes, but some of the answers are [[RefugeInAudacity often as ridiculous as the show itself]].
* {{Yandere}}: Reimu's attempt at being a {{Tsundere}} in Episode 3 makes her look like this to Marisa.
