The Willy Wonka adaptation was mocked and condemned from the moment the trailer was released. And there hasn’t been another T&J movie in the same vein since then.

[[WMG: Slugworth is a SplitPersonality of Mr.Wilkinson]]

Its the only explanation that I can think of as to why, despite them keeping in the twist that he was working for Wonka the whole time, he goes out of his way to come off as evil.

It had been no secret that a majority of the fandom was beginning to tire of the idea of shoehorning Tom & Jerry into famous movies. Granted, they genuinely tried to create an original story with Tom & Jerry: Back to Oz, but it didn’t seem to be enough.

Any studio in their right mind would never allow such a poorly made movie (animation errors, seemingly unfinished expressions, etc) to be released in the state it was. Or at least, they shouldn’t.

The studio had to stop these movies somehow.
