* When Ra is destroyed in the Stargate movie the alien face theat appears before the explosion does not look like a Goa'uld. Although it has a general resemblance to an Asgard face the Asgard have not been portrayed possessing people like Ra does. Perhaps Ra is a renegade Furling.

This might also feed into a plot point that was discussed for the MMO with the Furlings creating the Goa'uld. He might be a remnant of that origin and have gone renegade with the Goa'uld under his control. We've seen renegade ancients, renegade Asgard, this could be the Furling equivalent.

This would be a bit of cosmic irony as many have stated that they wish the see the Furlings but it may be that the Furlings may be among the first aliens seen in the entire Stargate Franchise. Matti23

[[WMG: The System Lords have long become senile, their Underlords by contrast got their position by negative selection.]]
Looking at the intelligence and ability to learn from mistakes most System Lords displayed in the series, I do not believe they would have been capable of conquering their empires in the first place should they have always had their present level of competence. From Yu we already know that the Goa'uld can go senile so I suppose the other System Lords also suffer from it, but to a lesser extent, not enough to be so obvious. The exceptions are Nirrti and Ba'al, they had always seemed smarter than the other System Lords so I presume they must be too young to have become senile, or have won the genetic lottery.
The incompetence of their Underlords by contrast is caused by negative selection: the System Lords used to have both competent and incompetent underlings. However they ended up purging all their competent Underlords out of fear that they would try to overthrow them, so now only the incompetents are left.

* Make sense if you think about the first episode. They go to Abydos, where everyone speak the heavy accented English Daniel taught them. Then they go to Chulak where nobody speaks in English except for the Goa'uld and the jaffa. In later episodes the language problem disappear and everybody seems to speak perfect English except for the people of Abydos who still have the same accent because unlike anybody else the team meet, they actually speak in English.

* Except that Goa'uld are probably poisonous to humans or Jaffa. They have blue blood, their biology is certainly too alien to be digestible. That's certainly the reason why Daniel didn't eat the symbiote despite Shaka's insistence, besides it being yucky. Unas have certainly developped a stronger digestive system, and Goa'uld can make their hosts resist the poison.

This explains the apparently-independent evolution of humans in the ''StarWars'' galaxy: the Ancients seeded humans and near-humans there before ascending, like they did with the Tau'ri. Powers attributed to "the Force" stem from residual Ancient genes and Force ghosts are ascended beings. Qui-Gon, self-admittedly, received the knowledge of ascension from the Whills, who are already-ascended beings (ergo, the Ancients). Oh, and Stargates? [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hypergate They exist]], albeit in more limited quantities and less compact form; presumably, that galaxy was colonized long before the technology was perfected.

** Even more alternatively, StarWars is a highly fictionalized version of a real war fought between different factions of Ancients in the Milky Way galaxy. It's referred to as being "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." because it's being told to the modern inhabitants of Atlantis. It exists as fiction because someone told the story to Lucas on one of their unintentional time-traveling trips.

Rather than the result of a timeline change, as was shown in the second timeline, and which could leave you wondering what else might have changed, the shift back into the third timeline and the restoration of history is not a CloseEnoughTimeline, as is speculated, but rather a deliberately elaborate prank by Jack on his friends. It's been known for a long time Jack has HiddenDepths and is smarter than he pretends, and so the recovery of the tape in the third timeline takes place a few days prior to the end of the episode "Threads," and when his friends came over for the much-anticipated first ever fishing trip that Jack's been looking forward to for years, he thought it would liven things up to grab a bunch of nearby fish and dump them in his pond, with the sole intent to pull a once-in-a-lifetime time-travel gag. So it's no timeline change, just Jack being Jack.[[/folder]]

[[WMG: Changing the timeline in "2010" saved the galaxy from Goa'uld domination.]]
Ironically, one may be tempted to assume the opposite as the future presented in the Aschen-dominated timeline seems to have dealt with the Goa'uld rather handily, but that discounts Anubis's rise to prominence among the System Lords only a year later after the point of timeline change. It is likely to infer the Aschen dealt with the System Lords the same way the Trust intended in Season 9, by means of biological warfare with anti-symbiote poison that left few Jaffa alive, who then settled Chulak. Without armies, Anubis would have been left to build his plans far slower, and yet would have met with little impediments from his rivals, ready to swoop in a century later and unleash total destruction on the galaxy.

[[WMG: Going off the WMG above, changing the timeline also saved the universe from the Replicators.]]

In [[Recap/StargateSG1S5E15Summit Summit]] and [[Recap/StargateSG1S5E16LastStand]] we learn that Anubis has been launching anonymous attacks on his rival system lords to weaken their forces. It's also suggested that in at least some cases, the target Goa'uld's Jaffa surrendered to the attacking forces and later took part in other attacks. This almost perfectly matches K'tano's tactics- lightning raids on System Lord forces, with a force made up of defected Jaffa from multiple Goa'uld "nations".

What's more, in those same episodes Lord Yu is the only System Lord to oppose Anubis being allowed to rejoin their ranks. Coincidentally, Lord Yu is the target of the assassination mission K'tano sends Teal'c on- an attack significantly beyond his usual raids. Although part of that is definitely K'tano pulling a UriahGambit on Teal'c, it's possible punishing Yu for his opposition was also an element of the goal.

It's shown several times that Jack's known '''Charles''' Kawalsky for quite a while, most notably in memories The Gamekeeper forces him to relive, which take place in 1982. In The Enemy Within, Jack even calls him "Charlie" in their conversation before the operation to try to remove the Goa'uld.

How did Jack arrest Maybourne for conspiring with the Russians to leak classified information to them? The simple, easiest answer is that they dialed the Alpha Site, shoved Maybourne through, and then left themselves before Markov could protest, or even over her protests. Without back, there's nothing she really could have done, and given their history, Teal'c would ensure Maybourne cooperated. Plot hole explained!

** Just to add further evidence, Apophis considered Klorel to be his son (and seemed to have a special relationship with him), rather than just considering him a symbiote born from his Queen. Also, Teal'c symbiote was able to show him a vision of Cronus killing his father which indicates that this symbiote had the genetic memory of Cronus. This all suggests that the males of the species are passing on their DNA.

She was the only one Carter "hallucinated" that wasn't from her memories, so she must have been real. Hallucination-Daniel's cloud theory doesn't explain why the cloud continued to corrode the ship even after Sam started talking to Grace, so she must have been an Ascended fulfilling the role of SpiritAdvisor just like Daniel did when he was Ascended.

The stuff in the episode "1969" happened normally, which because of his involvement got Hammond transferred to Project Blue Book, which continued in secret after its official shutdown in 1969 due to [=SG1's=] shenanigans. That work was so secret Hammond had to create a cover story while he was working on the project, at which point he met his wife Betty and they got married. Hammond, now Brigg's work, got him and Betty moved to Twin Peaks. After the events of that show, Hammond wanted to get away from [=BOB=] and the insanity of that town, so asked for a transfer which got him back to Colorado and another alien project, once again due to his experience. At that point he was able to drop the alias, and Bobby got married and had kids. Betty still died, but to hide his work on Project Blue Book and Twin Peaks, Hammond made up a story about his marriage and lied about which was his kid and which was his stepkid.

At the Mountains of Madness does seem to tie in with the Beta Gate in Antarctica. The story tells of an expedition that uncovers ancient alien artifacts (and more) in 1930. The expedition uncovers a vast complex that speaks of a highly advanced - and alien - civilization on Antarctica (the Ancient outpost perhaps?). The structure bears witness to a decline in living standards and the occupants now are horrific non-humanoid aliens that seem to be just scraping by at best. By the time SG1 rediscovers the outpost, they are no more.
