Even though he's colossal asshole, he doesn't want to hurt [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes Sherry]] and will try to come to his sense. He will be successful in this attempt. However, some external factor will damage him and trigger his transformation to the second two-headed form. In this form, William is still sentient. However, he's no longer in control of his body, [[GrandTheftMe the new head does]]. The new head, henceforth referred to as [[MythologyGag G]], will be the actual villain. [[AndIMustScream William will be able to do nothing but watch]] as G [[ItMakesSenseInContext impregnates his daughter]]. In his boss fights, William will use what little control he has left to hinder G, providing the player with breathing time. Eventually, as G mutates further, William will be completely absorbed by G and gone for good.

For a guy that is essentially the series's poster boy, Leon can easily claim the title of having the blandest backstory. It basically starts and ends at him oversleeping and being late for his first day as a copy. To fix this, Capcom will give us more details about his past in the Remake.

[[WMG: H.U.N.K will play a bigger role]]
It's something of a missed opportunity in the original that Ada and the U.S.S never interact despite being after the same thing. The remake will retrify this by having the last surviving U.S.S soldier H.U.N.K and Ada oppose each other for the G sample. Additionally, the Remake will also alter Ada's "death" scene by having it be caused by H.U.N.K instead of Mr. X. What better way to further establish H.U.N.K as a total badass than letting him defeat Ada and [[KarmaHoudini get away with it entirely?]].

[[WMG: G and Mr X will appear in both paths]]
Seeing as the Zapping system has now been retired. Both of the Path specific antagonists could be featured in both character stories. This might have been already confirmed seeing as Claire has a brief encounter with Mr X in the first trailer and is shown fighting G in some recent footage.

* Unlikely, as there doesn't seem to be a way to kill zombies ''without'' headshots. That's not to say there won't be Crimson Heads, but they are unlikely to be RE: Remake-styled Crimson Heads who are normal zombies not killed with headshots.

[[WMG: Elza will appear in this game]]
Since some of Resident Evil 1.5 content is reportedly used as an inspiration, Elza can be given the CanonImmigrant treatment and becomes a canon character. Of course, at best she'll be a side or a mentioned-only character, at worst she'll be zombie food.

Edward Elliot is a character from the original RE 2. Nothing to do with RE 3.

* [[WMG: Resident Evil 3 will also be remade, as part of the RE2 remake.]]

Even in the Resident Evil remake, with all its extra rooms and enemies, it could be beaten in under 3 hours, so the developers included a few extra new game modes to make up for it. Plus, we have seen the incorporation of a few of RE3's game mechanics in the demo (gunpowder, 180 degree turns, Edward Elliot). Why else would it take them more then 3 years from announcement to release?

** It's been basically confirmed with Marvin, as he has several more lines and is even seen killing a zombie.

** The game may elaborate further on Birkin's depravity and the fact that he's a serial killer, something the original game more-so implied. The Mayor's Daughters fate could also be changed or explicitly shown.

* Furthermore, we could see a reference to Nemesis even if it's a small easter egg such as viewing a security tape of Jill fleeing him or Brad's death, similar to the tape of Kenneth's death in Remake.

* ''ORC'' is non-canon. The reason why the United States Army team ends up in the Dead Factory is because they got lost and took a wrong turn on their way to Birkin's lab. They likely had the rail gun with the the whole time and set it up in the factory when they realized that the mass-produced Tyrants were being dropped on them.

We saw in the N64 port that there was a dead Hunter inside, but also a large container in the corner of the room, which appeared to house a large creature, smashing it's way out of it. There's also an empty attache case near it, that has some compound missing from it. An Experimental Tyrant? G Creature? Or some other unknown BOW?

[[WMG:Why did the U.S. government attack Umbrella's factory on October 1st?]]
Did they want to destroy the T-Virus, or did they want it for themselves? As a corollary, how did they manage to get the rail cannon into the factory's power room?
* According to RE:ORC, it was a base of operations that needed to be shut down. They were after the G-virus, though, but apparently they just wanted it for "evidence" ([[ParanoiaFuel or so they say]]). As far as the rail cannon goes, it was dropped in by helicopter.
