While both universes are rather goofy, the Rayman universe is ''miles'' above the Mario one when it comes to weirdness. So it's possible that extended time in the Mushroom Kingdom caused something akin to a FisherKingdom, which caused the Rabbids to become saner and smarter.

This is mainly due to the fact that it wouldn't really make sense (well...as much sense as you can get here) for there to be Lumas in a world themed for Rayman, plus Lums are pretty similar to Lumas in that they're flying glowing mythical beings [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking starting with L, U, and M.]]

The last game had a ''Franchise/DonkeyKong''-themed DLC. This game will have one based on ''Wario''. It will feature Wario and Waluigi as playable characters, along with another Rabbid character from the base game, like how ''Donkey Kong Adventure'' had Donkey Kong and Rabbid Cranky join Rabbid Peach. It could also feature the Bwaaah Trio (Bwario, Bwaluigi, and Lava Queen) from the last game as the BigBad.

* The Rabbid is actually a Spark. the other Rabbids in the M+R Universe were usually just Rabbids that got altered to resemble something you'd see in the Mario series, or inanimate objects resembling rabbids. Mario's spaceship noted that some sequences of Rabbid and Luma DNA matched. obviously DNA sequences would have similarity even between species, so we're probably going to assume LEGO Genetics.

[[WMG: Guesses for the JRPG looking Rabbid in the trailer for Sparks of Hope]]
* The girl that invented the Supermerge in Rabbid form. She lacks the tan muzzle circling the mouth like the others and is more action-y.

Mario's spaceship noted that some sequences of Rabbid and Luma DNA matched. obviously DNA sequences would have similarity even between species, so we're probably going to assume LEGO Genetics.
The Spark would probably be cultivated by Bowser, or assumed some of his form to allow her to assume the form of a Rabbid for survival, to avoid having her spark taken by the villain. They're probably going to base her initial personality as a bounty hunter who sides with Mario, who's unaware that she'll probably sell Mario out for her own survival (or her own benefit), to reveal that she's a JerkWithAHeartOfGold. then pull a Luke Skywalker when it's revealed that in some part, Bowser is (genetically) her father (again, just because of Spark-Luma-Rabbid DNA similarities). maybe they'll pull the same thing twice if it's revealed that the villain is a Posessed Rosalina?
Lumas can already transform into a planet, or even into a whole Galaxy to neutralize a black hole. if life can thrive in a galaxy from a Luma mass, then a Luma could probably become an sentient lifeform, say, a human, toad, rabbid or possibly Koopa.
** There's already evidence for the last part, as some Lumas transform into Star Bunnies in the ''Galaxy'' games.

* [[VideoGame/Rayman1 Mr. Dark]], or an {{Expy}} thereof. ObviouslyEvil, wears a face and body obscuring cloak, has floating limbs, the ''Sparks of Hope'' antagonist seems to check off all the boxes.
** Alternatively, Cursa is actually a Rabbid Mr. Dark, which is basically Mr. Dark with an extra dose of utter insanity.
* An existing Mario series villain, possibly a reborn [[VideoGame/SuperPaperMario Dimentio]].
* A [[DemonicPossession possessed]] Rosalina. Cursa has that broken star symbol on its "chest" about where Rosalina's star brooch is, a feminine-sounding name, and the trailer featured a pointed shot of Rabbid Rosalina giving it a DeathGlare. Not to mention, Bowser's on the box art, which would seem to point towards him being the ninth playable character.
